My friend played it
I found a list of sourcemods from Steam store and saw Garry's mod and thought how funny name that was for a mod. I looked at screens and decided to try it even though I didn't know what was the point in it exactly.
I was looking up mods and I misspelled "mod" XD
Concerned, back in 2006.
Read about it in PC World at the dentist's some four or five years ago, before I knew about the Half-Life series. I think the article was talking about an early version; If I remember the pictures I didn't see a formal Q menu.
My grandpa got me into it.
My friend told me about it.
Screensavers on G4.
a friend showed me
The trailers from steam :sweatdrop:
I saw a youtube video
My brother came back from his friends house and showed me "Idoits of Garrysmod"
I typed Half life mods (Yes hl1) in google and found garrys mod.. Was pretty lulzy back then.. And remember this is around 2005
A bunch of years ago, I found it on the Half-Life sub-site of FileFront and downloaded it because I wanted to play on co-op with a friend. Ofcourse I found the beauty of sandbox games soon after I downloaded it.
Ytmnd
I was trying to make a Halo Machinima(using Custom Edition for PC.)I was having a lot of trouble, and in the end they told me if i couldnt handle CE,try Garrys Mod.Not only is it easier in my opinion, but it seems faster, more efficient, andit had more stuff.
I saw a 3 second clip of grigory shooting a rebel through a wooden shed in a YTP, I decided it had to be mine O.o
back on g4 when cinimatech was still showing i saw this gmod video i was like "what a crappy map for half life 2" then on xplay for the orange box special they showed gmod then i wanted it badly
Watching the "Half-life Robot Chicken" series in youtube, I laughted my ass off, and thought that I'd wanted to do that, 2 years later I got Gmod and when I saw everybody hated that kind of stuff.
Mr.Cookie told me about it long ago, soon after I met him in school
Gordon Frohman.
First, i was on holidays, after 2 weeks of playing nonstop i was really bored, and watched over 3000+ youtube videos of different kinds and by a miracle i reached the Gmod, i truly like it, then to be sincere i use pacsteam to try it out, i loved it although i really sucked making things, but after a month i decided to buy it, and well. I now have it, but in my country there are no servers at all :( and i suck when trying to make things with the wire tool i've seen tutorials about it but i still don't get it, maybe i am dumb for this things :P
I think I remember seeing Garrysmod on G4 once, but I can't remember fully.
you remember correctly i saw it too.
I played Yay Pit on Half life 2 deathmatch about four years ago, it's like this server where you use the physics gun to pick stuff up and you type !freeze into your console and it freezes it in mid-air, or the admins parent props to you to make them your playermodel-ish, or just play on puzzle maps. I used to always hear about Garrysmod on it, and I thought it was just a rip-off, so I dissed it and said I thought it sucked, then I actually tried it and found it was pretty -d-a-m-n---n-e-a-r-F***ING awesome.
There, fixed it.
My brother bought Half life 2. So, as he got more into the game and it's engine, he wanted to find more stuff for it, then he found Garry's Mod v9, then from there, me and him started playing it, we bought to steam accounts. But, as we grew older, he grew uninterested with the game, so then he decided to quit playing it. And, I still play it, and I'm happy with what the outcome was, even though he still likes to mess around on lan sometimes.
Went to a lan party, some fat guy was using the ballon tool on ragdolls and started shooting them down. I wanted to play from just that.
Tell us how you found garrysmod. I found it by watching youtube videos.
looking for CAD programs.
a 'Because I got High' music video made in Garry's Mod. Don't ask how I came across it, I don't even like that song.
I saw a nuke video a year ago and thought "Wow, I want that game!". I didn't HAVE any Source games then, so I got it a month ago after I had The Orange Box and CS:S.
Mr.Cookie introduced me to it
