Looking up Videos of Pirate Ships on Youtube, and stumbled across a video of a Gmod Pirate Ship.
Browsing the Steam mods list.
I was searching for funny stuff in youtube, and I came across The Idiots of Garry's Mod, I found it incredibly funny then I decided to buy Garry's Mod.

I was making a similar lua script for hl2 and showed my friend he told me about gmod.
I was so fucking pissed off but happy.
First learned about it in "Concerned," never got into it. Then I saw the video of that guy on youtube supposedly getting the companion cube to the portal bossfight, and looked up how he did it. Then I bought the game and have been hooked since.
I think I might have seen it on halflife2.filefront.com, or in the Steam Store.
I got Half Life 2 for the Xbox, and looked it up on Google
Led me to Steam
Led me to the Orange Box
Led me to Garry's Mod
I've been playing gmod since v4 o.o
I'm kinda blank on that one. :/
When i was going to buy CSS, i searched it on steam store and i saw the css+gmod pack. I checked what was gmod and the picture looked so funny so i searched gmod on youtube and i liked it.

In 2005 i found some guys talking about garrys mod 9 got released on a website. got me intrested so i decided to try it.
No idea how I first found it, but a bunch of videos on youtube convinced me to buy it.
I'm not even sure anymore.
I remember that around the time Half Life 2 was released, GMod 6 got somewhat popular, and some gaming site held GMod creativity competition.
If it wasn't that then I really don't remember how did I get around knowing it.
I think I found out about it even earlier though, I think it was just a list of mods.
And I memorized the said before event, because I was excited.
My uncle showed me Left 4 Dead (the first one) and I found the old disc-based Half-Life game in my house. I was looking through youtube videos about TF2 and L4D and soon I found out that most of the funny stuff was made in Garry's Mod. And I got too excited by the game's looks. So I bought the bundle for 14 bucks (at that time there was a CS:S deal and I bought the bundle). It tells you how far you can go across YouTube from one topic to another: The dreaded Related Videos tab.
i was looking at the flying spaghetti monster on youtube and i found a video on how to make one in Gmod 9.
My friend told me about it. Thanks to him I now have no life O_O
I found it by watching youtube while eating cookies
When Gmod 3 go out, my bro downloaded it. He said it was crap but i loved it. 1 week later i had forgot it. Then when the 9 came out i downloaded it and since that beateful time. I play.

random searching on youtube and i came to a garrysmod video.
My first gmod was a old one that only needed css (think it was v7a). Then i bought gmod 10 (or 11 as some prefer to call it).

I played it at my friend's house almost five years ago :P
i was bored one day, so i went across searching youtube for good sandbox games, found a few good, platinum arts, phun, found a few bad, well, not really, and found one really good, Gmod, today, ive seen littarly over 10,000 videos on Gmod, i practically had it downloaded in my brain by then, but, then i got gmod, a great decision. this is also how i found Machinima (srsly, i didnt see ANY machinima till then), DasBoSchitt, and many more.

Gmod 3? wow, btw, when i look up youtube, the lowest Gmod ver i can find is Gmod 2, not 1 single gmod 1 video, Gmod 1 existed.. right?
I was browsing around on Steam and came across it.
I bought it, loved it ever since.
