My mate found it via youtube videos and he told his mate and he told me too!
I was reading an article about Gmod 8 (I think it was in a PC Gamer) and I joined in the night of Gmod 9's release.
My little brother started playing for a similar reason. He used to watch me play it in gmod 8, and 9 - but didn't buy it himself and play it until Garrysmod 10 came out.
I actually don't remember, but I got into Gmod when it was 8.3b.
I think I was just looking around when I saw garrysmod.com. Maybe it was from searching.
Steam friends -> Youtube -> Steam friends -> Steam Store -> Game -> Game -> Game.. ERROR INFINITE LOOP DETECTED!
Search on youtube after Nuke, found garrysmod but did not now wath i was.
3 years later i found it again and fell in love.
I watched g4 a loonng time ago and saw how freaking amazing it looked. Also, my freinds and I were having a zombie onslaught lan, It was amazing
played it on a friend's computer and liked it. And a while later bought it and I'm still addicted to it to this very day.
A friend of mine recommended it.
He showed me how to spawn a bathtub, a ragdoll and balles.
Shit was fucking awesome then
Searched for " Stargate game " on youtube, found some GMOD stargate videos.

I can't believe how much my life has changed when I found out about Gmod... HOLY SHIT I still don't know how garry managed to make such an extraordinary game... I've been playing Gmod for more that 2 fucking years...:aaaaa::aaaaa::aaaaa:
Eavesdropped a nerds conversation about tying ropes to ragdolls and dragging them... yep
Some 6 years ago I saw my friend play it, shit was so cash.
I loved the time b4 prop protection, and super loved it when it first came and the Reload bug was still there.
I searched up some HL2 mods on modDB when the idea of "welding, roping, and ballsocketing" caught my eye. Sure, it was NOTHING like what I expected, but the proof is here before you. I am still here today, and leaving would be the last thought on my mind if at all.
I was looking up random stuff on steam, found GMOD,watched the trailer, looked awesome, got it, and now i am loving it.
Found it under the mods section in steam. Downloaded it to try it, loved it.
I can't really remember, I think it was from multiple places. I think one of them was when I first heard about HL2 and was looking up some mods, another was a YTMND page with GMan having a wonderful time and another was from youtube vids.
I was playing Halo 3 (A month after it's release) and my friend was talking about how there is this game where you can build anything you want and shit. I asked him what are you talking about and he said Garrymod. I forgot but then a few weeks later I was on Youtube and found a Gmod video and was like :O and then found hl2 and i was like >:D be cause I played and loved hl1. I got Gmod CSS and hl2 for xmes of that year. Then when I found ep1 and ep2 I bought them. :D
I played it at my friend's house, then 2 years later I actually got it.
My brother got told of it from my moms friends kid who told him and then he told me.
I was in a TFC server when people were talking about a HL2 comic called Concerned. I went to www.hlcomic.com, read and loved the comic, and came across a link to GMod9.
Went to buy CS:S and then bought the package.
Man, I forget. I think it was from when I was browsing free stuff in steam, or when a friend was playing it.
I was bored, and looking for a "zombie survival" video I saw awhile ago, and came across a video of a round of GMod zombie survival and I asked what game it was, so someone linked me to the blog for Garry's Mod (it was about halfway through GMod 9s life span), I've been following it ever since, and got GMod about a month ago.
I wondered how were these youtube videos made and i don't remember how but i found it was gmod.

Didn't you make a machinima?
I searched for HL2 porn.
Saw a review in a gaming magazine and thought i'd try it.
This was in the late GM8 early GM9 period.
All my friends had it so I had one of my friends gift it to me for my bday :D

Similar. A mate showed me the comic, a few months later I got gmod. Dived straight in with Gmod10, never experienced the earlier versions.
