G4 in January 2005, on the Screen Savers, was when I first started playing around with Garry's Mod. Garry's Challenge when I first found it was to build a bridge across the water in gm_construct :D

I started playing on the night I joined the forums, December 21st 2006. Heard about the forums from my friend and the neat features they held. Smartness system, ratings and that sort of thing. Sounded interesting, so I checked it out and here I am today!
I used to play HL2:DM or CS:S, can't remember, way back in 2004 or maybe even earlier. It had the gravity gun in it, I usually fucked around with the RPG and didn't even know how to go in a multiplayer server. In December 2007 and around that time, my brother started to play TF2 and I met my true love: Steam. I eventually popped up on Garry's Mod 10 later ( I saw it had the same beloved gravity gun. ) I bought it and to this day I am addicted.

I was curious, and searched "gmod" on youtube, then i met one of the best sandbox games yet, starting with gmod 7, then 8, found the way to use 9, then bought 10.

I believe it was when steam started "advertising" mods, so I got Gmod 9. So I have been playing for a while, and I remember buying 10, I was so happy.
erm nvm. I think I got it seperatly, because it doesnt come with the games pack. dont know when though :o
I saw Gmod10 on steam. I tried one of the earlier versions to see if it was worth it.
I saw it in a Xfire video of a G-man ragdoll welded to some chair.
Oh yeah, also learned of it in a G4 X-play episode few years ago. That made me shit bricks!

A long time ago, I was searching for ragdolled things on Youtube and came across a video where someone used slow-mo to knock a Metrocop in to a hole with a shovel . So I thought " Hmm, this makes me want to try Half Life 2" ( I now know it was Smod). So, I was searching for some videos of HL2 and I found one where a guy shot a combine off a bridge. The description said it was Gmod, so being the cheap bastard I am, I searched Gmod free. I found Gmod 9, installed but couldn't play because I didn't have CSS, HL2, or HL2 DM. Then in January 07 or February, I got Gmod 10. Then I found FP in August of 08
I was playing the Sandbox mod for Battlefield 2 (Think a really simplified GMod) and one of my friends kept pestering me about trying GMod until I finally gave it a try. Never looked back since.
I was looking at portal (fake easteregg) videos, when a viewer blamed the creator of one of the videos for using gmod. Back then, i had no idea what gmod was. In related videos i found Garry's Mod - How to Cook A Human. I watched it and some other gmod videos, so i buyed it.
