Friend (who isn't a friend anymore) told me about it, and I remember him telling me every few hours about its updates. I didn't think it was anything special, really. I got it around GMod7. I eventually left it alone, but then on YTMND, a site I visited a lot, people started posting so many hilarious things made with GMod9.0.3. I laughed out loud, and noticed the watermark, then got it and had such fun. I miss the classic FortWars and Build-a-Bridge. All those old gamemodes were so much fun and should be put into a "Classic-Games" server thing. Would bring so much fun to the oldies.

I actually found out about it by watching the series "the leet world". I went to buy CSS in the combo box with DODS, HL2dm etc then after a while of just watching random shit on youtube i found a vid on gmod.
I searched half life 2 on youtube then I started to see Gmod 9.0.4 in the top corner of the screen
Youtube and blockland. Then ICTON came along and well killed the funny.
Through playing a Half-Life 2 Role Playing mod, forgot the name..

I was looking for low price games when I suddenly saw this game.
I was just looking for games/mods in steam store when I found it.. That was version 9.. But then I wasnt sure to get it.. So I waited and then GM 10 came so I thought.. Wow I did the right thing to wait and then I bought it.. Not like version 9 was bad or anything ^^

I was looking at some map for HL2 that had "GM_" in front of it. GM_Collapsypants. I thought that map was great. I wondered what GM was, so I looked it up, found Gmod v2. I'm an old man compared to many new members. I got 3 of my friends to get it within the last 2 years. They like it.
I remember quite well. I was looking for cool mods on ModDB when I came across Gmod 7. I played it for a while and eventually met an awesome guy called Salty Peanut who sorta introduced me to online gaming on some server. Good times.
I got CSS at walmart or something, installed it... and browsing through games i found gmod, it was only 10 bucks so I was like what the heck so I got it and now i played it ever since <3

Oh jeez, it's been a while since I started playing Gmod. It was a few years ago, I was trying to look up a tutorial on how to make spawnable props for a map I was making, and I followed a few links through to some tiny little forum where a guy had made a post about a sandbox mod called JBmod.
Long story short, I followed some more links around found the download for Garry's Mod and shortly thereafter made my Facepunch account after discovering that the mapping community was fantastic. After a few months of quiet, unreleased mapping and forum lurking I stopped playing and left for a while. After much fanciful exploration and adventuring I eventually ended up back in front of my computer playing Spacebuild. And now here we are today.
I was looking for some UT2004 modds that are all about zombies and then i found this video and then i bought Gmod 9 and then that started my Gmod craze.

i was surfing the net (because i was EXTREMELY bored) then asked dad if i could play half life 2
i then asked if there was sandbox mode on it, i went on youtube and found out thats its called gmod (or gmod 9 then)so i downloaded that onto steam and eventually i got gmod 10

On Youtube. I think i searched up "mechanical robots" and clicked 100 diferent realated videos, somehow when I saw this big-ass robot I started watching more videos about garrysmod. Then I googled garrysmod to see what it had in it. :D
In 2006, I was watching videos on HL2 and in related videos there were people doing all this crazy stuff in gmod 9, It looked really awesome, so I looked it up and downloaded it.
I recruited a guy to the CS:S clan I used to belong to, and he talked to me about it.
