Came across it looking at youtube videos.
I was on another forum. someone posted a Gmod 10 video of Billy MAys vs Vance from Shamwow.
from a friend who told me about i had steam but only CS original looked at garry's mod said "hey this are cool must buy"

My friend showed me Idiots of Garrys mod 2 and I fell in love (with the game of course)
Saw some videos on Youtube and tried the game out my self.

Honestly, the good old fashioned way, let me tell you people a tale.
So some time in 2002 my dad bought a new ATi video card and It had a free order in copy of Half-Life 2 when it gets released. So my dad ordered it and that shit and we waited like 2 years. We finally got it and had the Steam account ready in 2003 but for some odd reason It says I joined in Jan 2k5 which doesnt make any sence at all when I was playing HL2 in 2004 when it came out. Anyway I was searching mods on File Front, and came across one of the old versions of Garrys Mod it was somewhere between 1 and 4 way before the menu we have now and even before NPCs were implemented in the spawn menu, and all the player models were Kliner with no animations... Ahh the good ol' times. Anyway thats how I found Gmod and it must be one of the best stories here :D
Was at a computer arcade, some guy was playing it.
Saw a lot of videos on youtube, just bought it right away.

I really have no clue. It was probably because of a hl2 mod site or something back in '05.
I came across gmod when I was looking up nukes on youtube then I saw a vidieo on gmod nukes thats
how I found about gmod witch lead me to steam witch lead half-life 2 and counter strike
How could you NOT come across gmod? It's to most popular sandbox game ever!
Searched "Best HL2 Mods" downloaded GMOD 9, a month later I bought the retail GMOD.
i was talking on xfire and my friends were playing v8 it sounded like fun so i got it

It was one or two years ago, when I was only playing CSS (never got into it really, liked playing funmatches with friends), when I saw my mate playing some weird game called "Garry's Mod". I asked him about it and he replied something like...
"Yeah, it's a great game where you can attach balloons to a bathtub and sit in it."
My reaction:
"OMFG THER R RELY A GEM WER U CNA DO TAHT=!=!0"
Later that evening I bought it.

Clay Pigeons by Itchy and MrCowhead, saw it on newgrounds. IM STILL WAITING FOR CLAY PIGEONS EPISODE 4 ITCHY !! :argh:
A YouTube video of the HL2 ravenholm chapter, shot in something called Garry's Mod, was the very first time I had heart of this 'GMod'. Several more YT videos shot in GMod later, I decided to check out garrysmod.com
Youtube is the win for telling people about Garry's Mod.
