Youtube is the win for telling people about Garry's Mod.
But most of the twats on there are looking up tutorials on how to use the hydraulic tool, stupid stuff like that. There's a few good wire tutorial posters on there but otherwise it's painful to read garrysmod comments on youtube.
Things like "IS THAS HALF LIF TOO?" and "AS GARYMOD FOR EXBOX?!"
Some guy had a map up on HL2DM for Garry's Mod 4 and I saw it and he told me about the game.
Found it in youtube.com, when i was looking for physics games.
Doing my Halo CE modding crap, my friend couldn't play on a map, for he was playing gmod. He talked about it like it was god he said"You can do anything!", So i got interested bought half life and those games.
I got severe cancer, then I died whilst in the hospital. As I was fading away, I heard the most amazing guitar solo I had ever heard. I saw the light, and walked towards it. The music was getting louder. Suddenly there was a burst of light, and I was in Heaven, witnessing the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Jesus was playing a guitar solo on a 64-necked guitar atop a wild cougar with laser cannons. Jesus looked down at me and said, "Son, download Garry's Mod. Do so, repent in your sin and then you may enter my kingdom." He high-fived me which instantly cured my cancer, before I was sent back down to Earth.
And that is where I am now. Thank you, Jesus. You have some mad guitar skillz.

Cant entirely remember how i found cause it was around 4, 5 years back it but it has some help from youtube, i think i was searching rag doll physics games and sandboxes and then i found the god of all games, i haven't typed "physics game" or "sandbox game" in any search since. Thank you Garry for the best $20 of my life ( garrysmod + css ) , with all the mods over the years my garrysmod is now 10gb it total :D so worth it.
I saw a funny gmod comedy sketch and went from there.
I saw a lot of Gmod videos on youtube, bought Gmod after. :D
Saw youtube and saw it on TV and a friend helped me figure out a way to get it, parents had a ban on M games when I started playing, I was 15 lol
Saw the War of the servers. I was hooked just what you could do in the game
I saw a bunch of cool contraptions on Youboobe and i really wanted gmod so i got it.
not long after I got Half Life 2, I found out about the mod. Endless hours of fun, as it was my first TRUE sandbox experience. It was a revelation.
Trying to record crappy machinimas in HL2DM isn't as easy as Gary's Mod.....
As a lonely hobo in an alleyway. I offered him 10$ in change, and he gave me the ability to make amature porn with dead, limp bodies.
I saw this banana phone video made from Gmod, and then I checked it out and it was on my Wish List ever since. Man I love gmod <3
Found gmod 9 while downloading s-mod
Friend had it, got hooked on it at his house. Went home and bought it, it's only $10. :P
I saw the Full-life consequences and thought it was a game for some reason.
but back then I thought the Orange box was a console.
Anyway, My FRIEND, let me play his pirated copy of Gmod 10 I loved it so,
I went and bought the legal copy of Gmod on steam.
Youtube was my inspiration. Idiots Of Garry's Mod was awesome.
I saw TF2 on youtube, thought, 'DO WANT.', and then found the our favourite well known sandbox game came with it.
I just don`t remember =)
I bought it when GMod was first released on Steam. It was on the store frontpage.
mate told me back at vs 6
Some random YouTube videos.
Did a friggin' random search in 2006.
I was actually surfing through Encyclopedia Dramatica when I found this:

Epic dick-sucks who wrote it, but I had to see if what they were saying was true. Obviously not. Ever since my first visit, I was hooked on the idea of Garry's Mod and I soon bought it.
Got Half-Life 2 for Xbox, and found out about Steam. I saw Garry's Mod as a game that was recently updated.
