I like that, objectives give a little more interactivity with the map.
Maybe some sort of wave based mode too? Like an arena.
A bit hard since there arent that many variations of monsters yet...Speaking of which, are monsters eventually going to have levels and such? Like say level 2 dungeons not only spawning what they currently do but also spawning headcrabs and normal zombies at levels between two numbers depending on the dungeon.
Would also mean there could be other bosses than the antlion guard, and it would be cool to have a rare chance to get a rare boss spawn in dungeon rooms, which drops good loot.
Interesting words you put together. I dont think Jake has the time to really make a wave mode, and I dont have the patience to make a room that would support it. And doesnt it kind of defeat the purpose of giablo and dungeons? Other than that I like your ideas.
Perhaps the way of choosing dungeons will be different down the line? Like make a town and outside of it are several entrances to the dungeons. Like Level 1 would be a cave Level 2 a forest or something. Ect.
In a nut shell, the town and the areas of entering dungeons should be more rpgish.

Sadly doing what Eyefunk said will take a LOT of work on jake and my end. It won't be as simple as eyefunk creating a map...

Also, I need to talk to jake about it, but I might create a set of lounge entities that you can use to watch other parties go through the dungeons.
I'm taking a slight break to work on the dungeon framework, mainly for redx.
I'm going to add an objective setting to each room. By default, the dungeon rooms will be "slay enemies: x/total".
However, eyefunk will be able to create more objectives, including some dungeons rooms that are multi objective: "hold off enemies, slay miniboss, hack door, etc".
This should make the dungeon rooms more interesting

The only thing is the objectives can't trigger anything in the map because it will appear to ALL players and not just one party.
What we could do for something like a locked door is make a particle that surrounds the door, and after a certain amount of time goes the particle disappears, meaning the door is unlocked.
That would work fine.

Sorry about the character bug, I've fixed it in the dev version, and I'll put a hotfix on the server right now. The armor is coming along better than expected, I'll be back with pictures soon.

Loving the map Eyefunk. About the armor, If you hit me up on steam I'll show you how to make it yourself. Speaking of which, armor is nearing finish. Then its just dungeons to update and we should see the new version on the server.
About bugs:
The character order bug is fixed.
The boss thing is fixed.
The hold types are fixed.
You will see these fixes in the next patch (the one with the armor and mockup skills).
Its cheap detail.

I cant wait that mapp and the armors cuz its getting kinda bored as lvl13 xD
oh yeah there is going a annoying bug like when poison goes to 0 it keeps going on... so you die to it if you dont get hp kits :p and me and my one friend wanted to kill the boss but it sayes that "The boss have spawned, Go find your party and join them!" but he is standing next to me so we cant kill the boss :/

The new inventory is basically done. It all saves to mysql, so your stats will be the same on all servers. In addition, [b]all[/b] the bugs relating to vanish items are fixed.
The inventory uses icons that are generated to represent the weapons. Weapons can now boost stats when equiped. And the inventory is tabbed based on item type.
