It's a little odd that we've got Youtube, Veoh, Vimeo, Megavideo, Youko, Todou, and more just for video hosting. They're all good though. Stop trying to bring up an old topic of "YOU STOLE FROM GMT!"
Lets make this easy for you people
1. Every gamemode is shit or poorly coded in some way for some time. We don't need to point it out for every gamemode just to make your favorite gamemode which is similar seem better.
2. Every gamemode steals something from another gamemode. They all steal the idea of making a modification to GMod don't they? Sandbox is the first gamemode to have the idea.
3. Every addon and gamemode is also stealing from each other because they are all stealing materials, models, props, textures that are from the games GMod is mounting and because they also may be stealing from a flash game, website, or whatever.
4. No one owns the right to any of these ideas. Just because multiple gamemodes/servers come up with the same idea or see it in another gamemode/server and like it, thus deciding to implement it themselves, does not mean that they are stealing, copying, or whatever. GMod Tower was the first to have Youtube and Tetris, fine, other people who saw it are entitled to implement it whenever they want and however they want without being judged.
You're missing the point, everyone knows that people take ideas and work with them, it's human nature to imitate. The point is that "TYE" is too fucking proud to admit that right after GMT came out they all of sudden implemented a youtube player, a tetris game (which looks like shit) and a theater (that also looks like shit).
It's one thing to take an existing idea and work with it and another thing to just steal an idea and give shut down anyone that says you took it.

And besides, does it [i]actually matter[/i] where the idea came from? Stuff like tetris and cinema aren't the whole point of the TD lobby. The whole point of the TD lobby is to better organize players into servers. The other stuff are just there to keep people busy whilst waiting, nothing more. Gmod Tower have concentrated more on the lobby side of things and less on the game side of things, so the lobby is in the focus rather than vice versa.

A debate requires an intelligent opinion, not just creating fuss where there doesn't need to be any. Go join the MPAA or the RIAA, you fool. Intelligent creation is limited to that exact creation, ideas do not count as a creation.
After all the time we've spent alive, we've exhausted nearly every idea. If someone thinks "I don't like this" and chooses to make their unique take on it, good for them. It advances their experience, it allows others to try an alternative to what they based it off of, and it enhances the community overall.

Explain? I accept that the gamemodes use similar ideas, but you seem to think they are "stolen", they would only be stolen if someone from TYE actually took the code from GMT.
