Done and done.[/QUOTE] 1) No, but it shows his idea of a "intelligent" opinion is biased because he's in favor of this gamemode. 2) This is a debate, you have the view that their content is all legit, and I think a lot of the ideas were stolen from GMod Tower (and the devs refuse to admit this). A theater, suite, and tetris all in a lobby (and once again, I understand the lobby) seem more than "similar". 3) Show me a post where they admit their content was inspired by GMod Tower. Sure, the Tower Defense is original, but I'm mainly focusing on the lobby here. They don't need something "epic l33t", but they sure could use an original idea. 4) Like I said, a lot is in common. Suites, theater, tetris, all in a lobby. Isn't it a little more than coincidental that after GMod Tower implements a YouTube player, 3D2D interfaces, and a suite system that a gamemode released shortly after it has all these same features?

As I said earlier, the lobby is merely a place to hang around in after a game, the features there are meant to be fairly basic and entertain you for a bit, whereas GMT's are much more refined, as they are one of the primary aspects of the gamemode (though I have no idea why you are adding a suite system, a trophy room or something would be more applicable).

The ideas may have been around for a while, GMT may have implemented it first, but that doesn't mean it is stealing, so they aren't covering anything up, they are just telling it like it is. As I said, unless they have taken the code directly from GMT, there is no way in hell this is stealing, it's like the loophole in patents, you may patent your idea, but if someone can do it in a different way, then they have the right to use the idea. The only way this can be considered stealing is if the GMT team have copyrighted EVERYTHING they have done, which just can't be done as this is a Lua based gamemode, not a entirely new game. (Other than Creative Commons, and Intellectual property laws, but I don't think this breaks them)
Ok, you know what, fuck it. I'll strip EVERYTHING out of the lobby, so it's just a square room with dev textures and the server screens and that's it. You'll have to just stand there and do absolutely fuck all whilst waiting for a game. Then we'll compare player counts with the lobby in it's current state and see which one keeps players playing on one of our servers the longest. The point is, these additions to the lobby are what they say on the tin - additions. They serve only to keep people occupied while waiting, and they work. We did not decided to implement them as a competitor to GMT or indeed any other gamemode with similiar ideas, we decided to implement them for simply the purpose of keeping players ingame. Who the fuck cares where the idea came from? If it stops you guys (not you hexpunK) from kicking up a fuss every time the word youtube or tetris ends up in the same sentence as gmod and gamemode, then I'll list the basic ideas below and where the inspiration/idea came from. Any RTS-like game is better off with a lobby so that all the players connect to the game at the same time otherwise half way through a game someone else would join and be at a disadvantage. I am not a fan of TD games they're just not my thing but the lobby pictures look pretty nice might at least check that out sometime.

Tetris did come from them. But I didn't like the way they made it, so I remade it to fit my tastes. They can go to GMT if they prefer to watch somebodies Tetris game, but the delay got on my nerves, so I decided to do otherwise. On the topic of 3d2d interfaces, it would be much more annoying to have a large Derma window covering up your screen. If you're quite finished, I hope we can settle this. I've had enough bickering for today.

And I couldn't join any servers after waiting for 30 mins, theatre fails, space invaders is way too damn fast to move.

Well isnt that the point? I mean if they always go really slow it is no fun! And yes they go a litlle bit fast at level but still.. Well anyway. I think you should 2-3 player mode! So like monsters get only Half or third of their life! Because it sucks to wait until 4 ppl are online! Make it like a timer! If someone didnt join after 1 minute ask if you want start the game anyway or if you want to wait!
