Everything looks cool.
Remember if you guys have any suggestions feel free to post them.
Visually, it looks very nice; maybe a touching up on some of the effects. They look very repetitive and I dislike repetitive effects. I am imagining you are scaling things down to a microscopic size, and at that size particles can only be 1 or two sizes (since there's no decimals in particle size), just consider some variations in the explosions and such. My opinion on the gameplay; Where's the originality? I don't see one fresh idea that hasn't been taken from Eve Online or Freelancer. I don't intend to sound rude and snide as if I were discrediting you and your fellow developers for all of their hard work. However, What sets this apart? I am an Eve Online player as well as an avid Freelancer player and Modder. What will make me want to play this instead of click the shortcut on my desktop that opens Eve-Online? Originality is all I'm looking for. Aesthetically, it looks very nice. Yet how is skill factored into it? It appears to me as if you simply lock your enemy and let fly with everything you got, simply managing your energy until one of you blows up in a generic blue explosion. How is skill factored in? Like I said, no harm is intended, however I have some serious questions about the gamemode. Not trying to discredit you for your hard work, just trying to point things out so that, hopefully, they can be taken into account and changes can be made to make your mod better.
Looks like SpaceAge.
Looks like SpaceAge.
Haha, what? Other than that they're in space, the two have basically nothing in common.
We have been getting lots of offers for hosting recently. As a reminder, Devinity is closed at the moment due to an update being in the works, and Alpha testing has already been done. Although it is still technically in Alpha (I think). We have plenty of resources to host it, and do not need someone else to host us for it. So stop offering please!
Don't worry we have allot more on the way but we want to get the basics out of the way first.
Hope this one doesn't get e-drama'd!

I think it would look more awesome if you make it feel like it is attached to the station when you look out, then it will give a true sense of the ship sizes.
It will look like you are where the station is when it is finished.
I meant like an extended platform, so if you look back you would see the station. It's more realistic if you at least see some part of the station to give a sense of scale or something.
img
No offence but i think the changed hud at the bottom left kinda ruines the whole whole theme of the game its like it doesn't even match up with anything, it looks like something out of a RP game to be honest.
There is a text in HUD which says WIP, so it is probably just a placeholder for the real hud. Thats what i think.
There is a text in HUD which says WIP, so it is probably just a placeholder for the real hud. Thats what i think.
Could be, but still its branding a company in a game, games shouldn't be about the company they should be about the game.

This HUD is used when you are in your ship:
Oh sorry, didn't see this
Looking out into space on the observatory deck of the station. (You won't be able to see the station when it's finished.)
Looks great.
This looks really good, keep it up!
Updated OP slightly. Will probably have some more news at the weekend.
Nice, looking forward to it.
Ready for updates, whenever your ready. This may even make me play gmod again.
Ready for updates, whenever your ready. This may even make me play gmod again.
Any updates now? Sorry, its just would be really good to get some proper information about the gamemode... I never had a chance to play sunrise, so i have no idea what its like. Anyone care to enlighten me? Also what trickery did you use to make this possible? Since its all on one map, i presume?
There were some issues in the community recently, resulting in us having no dedi. But LaKraven is probably going to host it for us since he is a friend of KIllers. So development got slowed down a bit but I believe it is up to speed again.
If you need some hosting services free of charge, look no further I helped with a beta server for spring moss. Before everyone or one person decide to quit and the whole game mode died. I have some(a lot) used space.
But LaKraven is probably going to host it for us since he is a friend of KIllers.
Nope he wont. We will probably run the gamemode on a Linux VPS.
So any awesome updates to speak of so far?
We did plan on having a testing this weekend, but the last gmod update fucked up the datapacker and fails to pack lua on linux. We optimiced the gamemode quite a bit, less network, slightly higher fps and way less entities. New hud in progress. More ships.
why garry why do you have to ruin everything!!! any thanks for the updates, glad to know everythings still moving along =D
