I was already wondering why people came up to me complaining they were banned from my servers with excuses like: But I didn't have my hack on that I only used on different servers. Thanks garry! May your crusade against cheaters persevere as glorious as it did today.
Well, bye bye 5000+ hours on gmod ;). Didn't realise we would get globally banned for using lua scripts on servers that are dumb enough to allow cslua. I just don't see why people who actually bypassed SE just get banned. because it's up to the individual servers to block cslua which would stop quite the majority of people cheating.

Never used anything to bypass SE as I don't want to get banned. I only ever used shitty scripts on darkrp servers that were stupid enough to allow it. I thought it was a ban for the more "serious" cheaters that bypassed SE.

Next...[/QUOTE] Using a lua script isn't "cheating" if the server is allowing it. People who bypass SE are "cocks". That's the reason I never did it, if I was banned for injecting shit into garrysmod and bypassing a load of crap, I can fully understand that. If people don't want cheaters in their server, they should turn off cslua, literally one line of code. FPtje enables it by default in darkrp I'd imagine so that he can use scripts.
Honestly if I ran a server again I'd use an LUA aimbot just to deter aimbotters / track people (Sandbox, it'd be, though) [editline]5th July 2013[/editline] or just ban them I guess

Good to see all the skids banned. Forcing allowcslua is such a shitty way of going about running lua scripts. Running lua scripts on sv_allowcslua 0 servers is stupidly easy through many other methods.
Now we wait for the DDOS attack to start.
This is a good plan but, Garry should have thought it out more. People are banned for just opening lua scripts but others that bypass using CE and C++ are sill not banned.

To be taken with a grain of salt and a healthy dose of reality.
Is there a list anywhere? Just curious, because I want to just remove any staff that I have that comes up without waiting to see if they are globally banned, or not.

As a server owner, will I have the ability to disable the bans on my server? If some of my admins have been banned for cheating - and this would be a case-by-case basis - I may still want them to be able to play on my server. Is this going to be another cheaters.cfg, or will we be able to decide who can play on our servers?

I, as a server owner, would like the ability to disable this "mass banning", but Garry is in no way obliged to do so, and it seems he won't. The people who received the bans fully deserved them.
