I have a 5970 and only get about 250 fps you don't need any more anyway..
You got jipped then, that card CAN exceed 500
You got jipped then, that card CAN exceed 500
Apparently the current drivers don't take complete advantage of both GPU's. So some games will run at the speed of a down-clocked 5870 in the meantime. Also your frame-rates seem normal for your card, I have no idea why you'd want 200 fps though because without Vsync on you will notice the image on screen breaking apart all the time.
Holy shit? You guys get that much FPS???? I only get 20-30!
Holy shit? You guys get that much FPS???? I only get 20-30!
Upgrade time brother, Portal 2 will probably wake new levels of graphics needed so much better if you can have 200-600 decreased to 100-300 fps instead of 20-30 to 0-1 fps. Get something like that stuff I will get and you will be fine: Windows 7 AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core Processor 3.00 GHz XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
Here is why I strive on high fps. sure 30 is playable, what if you spawn a plane... 15fps, okay, 60 fps? goes down to 45-30, 120? Goes down to 50-60 Get it? The more frames I have, the more leeway I have for intense stuff.
[editline]11:18AM[/editline] also, I guess since this game is bigger on CPU then GPU, 250 would be the maximum I can get. D: [editline]11:21AM[/editline] It just seems that ever game I go into, I lag.
You can't really see the frames once you're past 70+ (unless you see screen tearing of course). However, you can see the difference. EG jumping from 120 to 70 is very noticeable, but not the new rate itself. You're seriously bullshitting yourself.
Also your frame-rates seem normal for your card, I have no idea why you'd want 200 fps though because without Vsync on you will notice the image on screen breaking apart all the time.
I play at around 400 fps all the time without vsync, and my screen doesn't tear. I've never really heard about it happening with other people either.
There is absolutely 0 point in getting more than 100 frames, you aren't having any problems or anything. Unless you are getting ridiculously low frame rate there isn't a problem. A lot of things like resolution or playing in fullscreen or windowed also plays into this, your friend has a different setup and can get 600 fps rendering a frame that looks basically the same and wouldn't even tax a geforce 4, he is godlike. As long as you don't get below 30 fps in scenes that seem taxing, don't bother.

basically what this means is if I go on a empty server and play with stuff, sure, There won't be any trouble in the framerate area, but I rarely do that, I join FTS and SB server along with the normal sandbox, and in most of these servers I have 19-30 frames which is difficult for me. Also, I play windows @ 1280x1024 (max monitor size) with the flags -noboder. What this does is make it look just like fullscreen, but you can alt-tab alot faster.
I play at around 400 fps all the time without vsync, and my screen doesn't tear. I'm pretty sure the 5750 is not a very good card.
I have 2.3Ghz processor 1 GB Ram some random graphics card, N ma pc is still da shizel :D
1gb ram? well i gues its a bit laggy or u cant spawn props to the source engine chrash limit gmod requires a lot of ram got 4gb :D
I'm pretty sure the 5750 is not a very good card.
What, it's a really good card for the price.
I'm pretty sure the 5750 is not a very good card.
Crysis @ max with 40-50 fps is bad?
I want to know what kind of frame rate other people that play gmod with this video card are getting on standard flatgrass, no props. Because I feel like I'm getting very low framerate for my card and cpu (4Ghz)
Dude Gmod wants CPU the most. That's because of the interaction between objects in the game that Source calculates I have noticed since i first played Gmod that the collisions are draining the most CPU resources. And about the question ... the videocard looks nice You should get like 100 FPS at least I am with this one an i get 170 but my CPU is a little old: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?psn=000101&pid=266
I have a 5770 and I get about 300fps, I thought that source was limited to a maximum of 300fps as it is anyway?
I get about the same with my 5770 and i have a 2.8Ghz i7
5770 here and it works great, maybe you should have bought the 5750's a little better twin.
I have 2.3Ghz processor 1 GB Ram some random graphics card, N ma pc is still da shizel :D
Great contribution to this thread, good sir. I have a 5750 and I run GMod fine.
2 times an 5770 whit crossfire between em, runs on about 300 FPS on flatgrass whit no props.

I'm sure it's an issue for some people, I just have never seen it myself, despite the fact that by all accords, I should.
I bet he put timescale down, it makes it look like you have an amazing FPS.
