Just give Awakened a break guys, he's hosting a server for other people out there and made this advert to invite people to it, not to get it flamed. Sure, he did wrong with the map, but I don't suppose it really matters.

You can effectively secure maps in HL1, as it is common in TS. But in half-life 2, id imagine its going to be VERY hard to do, and still not very effective since your members have to download the map completely before joining. A word of advice would to get a script to place most of the important stuff in the map, like doors/glass, weapons, props, models, etc. That means anyone without the script would just get a very bare map, not perfect but not horrible either.

Taking suggestions if anyone has any. Edit: Shit, sorry for the double post.

This is horrible, you didn't even ask the developer if you could freely decompile his map.

If the original developer, who spends such an awful amount of time creating a piece of artwork and perfecting it, wishes for the map not to be decompiled and editted, then you should respect that. This is just a smack across Sgt.Sgt's face. If you want you're own custom map, then just wait for the mapper to finish it; it's much more rewarding in the end. Decompiling maps happen to ruin the physical .vmf.But I'm positive that many others have looked at this in disgust and lost complete respect for you and your community.

It is faster to decompile a map and tell some mappers to fix it instead of going through PERP2 code and changing various workings of it, and what the heck is PERP2.5, they started selling the gamemode since a bunch of months, how would it be 2.5 version now?

Looks like you just took buildings from sierracity and plotted them onto a flat land of grass. The picture of the suburbs is really bland and boring

I had to make the subs "bland" for now cause i want to atleast get the base of the map. I still haven't added foliage/props for detail yet. Awaken wanted me to post pictures now of the map.
