Any news on a patch or something? I really want to play this gamemod but keep crashing with memory error every 2 min :(
I love this game mode, the pigmask models are awesome. And I love the general chaos that ensues. I have a few ideas that could probably add to the frantic, chaotic fun. - The Colonel should count for something. Not much, mind you. I think it could be fun, and possibly even add some more strategy to the game (as well as the retarded slapstick) if when someone becomes a colonel they can kick/throw other pigmasks out of the way, either throwing them at the Chimera to save themselves, or to quickly relocate an ensign to somewhere more useful. (more likely just hurl them at the monster's mouth) - There could be randomly spawning, and rare items in the map. mostly just crates, that can be thrown at chimera. These would drop the Chimera's charge bar down to 0 so he'd have to wait for it to recharge. Naturally hitting another pigmask with the crate would stun them, making them an easier meal for the chimera. If you're holding a crate, you can't press the button, better throw it at something.. - Rarer still than the crates. bombs. big black round bombs. They explode on contact. The person throwing it can use it to bomb jump. Or if the chimera is hit, it would briefly stun it. of course if it hit a pigmask or blew up on a pigmask, they're not just going to be stunned, they're going to be thrown quite a distance. Hopefully if they're going for the chimera's button, they'll be able to get back from their explosive ride before the chimera's no longer stunned. (they probably won't) Just like the crate, if you're holding the bomb, you can't press the button. - Rocket pants. Appears very rarely on maps. Longer, faster sprint, can be used in parts instead of all at once (like the chimera's run) but it doesn't recharge and once it's used it's fuel you're back to running. One more thing, If you thought the bombs exploding were bad, try bombs exploding when your pants are full of flammable propellants. Bye bye piggy. I imagine the likely hood of items spawning on the map could be put into server side variables or into the files for the maps themselves (the ones that say where the chimera will spawn on tf2 maps for example) The guys I played with on Jokerice liked the ideas. So, there you go, some stupid ideas I had. to increase the amount of masked pigs running around like headless chickens. \/ 3 disagrees. :( Fair enough, Don't get me wrong I love the game as is, I was just throwing some ideas out there. It's what I do.
I'm not feeling the powerups, but I kind of like the colonel idea. It's funny and in-character; unfortunately, it's also highly griefable.
the cape should make him have a slight glide ability.
I apologize about the lack of any real updates. It's a combination of both the fretta contest and my own laziness. I've got a couple of ideas in mind, from various sources, that won't be too hard to implement (with Flux's computer out, we won't have accompanying animations though) that should help with the balance of stuff. I can't say when I'll get the update out, but I want you to know I haven't given up support on this. :smile:
Colonel should get his own taunt, something that makes his cape flourish dramatically.
Alot of people seem to be crashing, even i do. Its not the pigmask model though. its just a random crash, normally when we are the Chimera, and sometimes as the Pigs.

Every time you crash I can assure you either: A: A Pig was eaten. or B: A Pig committed suicide. Hell spawning it in sandbox can crash you. And I really don't know why.
The ragdoll does spaz out sometimes or freeze for a second during collisions with things. A suggestion I think everyone can agree on would be more taunt animations. And maybe a swimming animation. Those pig guys crack me up.
I seriously love this gamemode, it's really awesome. When I crash, either the UC killed a Pig or the pig suicided. Oh, I have crashed in the lab map when the elevator opened and there was a pig ragdoll inside.
Try to taunt in the ele, it's funny hehe... But seriously, this gamemode is really awesome, keep up !

The reason he spazzes sometimes Is because his limbs are so stubby, so there's a lot of collisions going on between ragdoll parts because of that. Hard to prevent when he's so short. I made a full set of swimming animations for the PigMasks. But I simply can't use them. Don't blame me, Gmod playermodels don't have any activity sets for being underwater. I'd love to add the support, but it's not gonna happen unless Garry adds them. The reason for this being that the Gmod playermodels were based off of Half-Life 2: death-match, which didn't have swimming identifiers either. If I'm incorrect on this, please correct me. But I looked all over multiple wikis and activity lists and found nothing about swimming.

You can't force animations on a player model. It's handled by the engine itself. For taunting we use a dummy entity of the player, and make the player invisible for a second. Dummies aren't ideal, they are laggy, and dont look so great in certain situations. They also can cause issues when they are toggled on/off a lot. I'm sure you've noticed problems sometimes when you taunt a lot. We don't want a dummy switching on every time you enter water. It would not look very good and would generally cause other problems. Without the activity sets for the player models, we really won't be able to do this right.
First of all this is great fun. However, highly unstable for me. Just caused me to Bluescreen. The first crashes were just game crashing crashes. It involved the chimera eating someone as far as I can tell(now that I read other have this too). However I have no idea why I blue screened.
Mannn this is amazing but you should make this for without the gamemode too like, running around owning zombies and citizens with the ultimate chimera :3

Just got another while playing tf2.

I love this game mode and I play it to much ;_; Just a few ideas: How about you start as a yellow part-timer before a pink ensign? I think that would be pretty funny. [sarcasm]AND COLONELS RANK UP INTO NATURAL KILLER CYBORGS[/sarcasm] And how about there are variants of the Chimera, same thing but different look?
Played with a speed hacker 5 minutes ago. His name was John Da Bomb and he said he was going to put it on youtube, so you guys might want to check there to fix the hack/bug he was using. I don't know anything else, he was just running really fast all of the time. Both as Pigmask and Chimaera.
Uhh, about the swimming animations. It would be really easy to implement.. You would just override the gamemodes SetPlayerAnimation function with your own adding in a check if they are under water or not.. For the record Jetbot works with this too, though I honestly don't know what use it would be, aside from the ESP..

He either found a glitch or a hack.
also to all of you expecting laboratory to be updated, it won't happen. Because I heard the creator of that map is very likely to drop projects even though they're going great
