Taking a look at content/data/chimera_spawns, it looks like you can add compatibility for other maps by creating [mapname].txt with coordinate data. Is that the case?

First line is vector position [B]X Y Z[/B].
Second line is angle to face [B]P Y R[/B].
We'll be adding a lot more arena maps with this next update. They're the perfect size and I've set it up to remove the doors and stuff that would normally block you out.

You can just put new ones in the folder and they'll work, right?
Will the door removal work on other maps as well?

Yea, just name the .txt file the same name as the map and my gamemode will know what to do.
Door removal will only work with arena maps, since those are the only maps I now of that keep doors locked until a certain time. I don't want to remove that stuff on maps that would use them for aesthetics.

Start up a local server and type bot in the console.

Yea, I'll be doing that. I'm still figuring out what exactly to buff though. A faster roar is definitely helpful, but I'm not sure a sprint boost is necessary. I'll be playtesting.
I think koth_harvest_event is a good map for Chimera Hunt already.
Mainly the beauty of it, I thought, was that you could play it on any map.

He's pretty slow in brawl, his speed is fine I think. He should have a longer reach to compensate for his speed though.

His speed and reach are both fine.
The main problem is that in crowded servers you can just gang up on him despite the roar; people will see other pigs closer to him get scared and simply wait out the roar, then dash in and press the button once he tries to do anything.
Still, even that can be circumvented on most maps by intelligent use of terrain and being aware of your surroundings. That said, the UC definitely needs to have his strength scale with playercount since a Chimera fighting 4 pigs shouldn't really be same as a Chimera dealing with 15 pigs. As it stands, adding more players merely makes the Chimera harder to play without any benefits.

Now that we have support for arena maps, those are probably the best ones to use.
Perhaps increase the length of the Chimera's roar for more players?
I must say this is one of the best gamemodes i've seen...and to be publically available? Amazing!

Anyone think somekind of ranking system thats more expanded then the 3 kill streak pigmask suits sound like a good idea?
Or even a option to spawn admins as a special type of pigmask, sounds alright.
I didn't do any arena maps yet because I don't know which, if any, you've already done for the update. If you haven't done any, I'll do them, and if you have I'll fill in the gaps.
In the meantime, I've done every TF2 map that wouldn't be rendered unplayable for one reason or another (cp_fastlane, cp_yukon_final, ctf_turbine, ctf_well, and koth_viaduct) as well as cs_office (I'm not sure it'd be too much fun, but I was on a server earlier where somebody requested it so I figured I might as well. The spawn point is kind of arbitrary and closer to the pigs in CT spawn, but I haven't played much CS so I don't know the map well enough to really choose a better spot.) and d1_trainstation_05 (Which I'm almost certain doesn't work for a variety of other reasons. I mainly did it because my amusement at the idea of a Chimera stomping around Kleiner's lab far outweighs such petty concerns as "not wasting my time.")

One question: How does the rank system work, exactly?
Kill the chimera and you rank up. Get killed by the chimera and you go back to ensign.
The game crashes quite frequently. It normally happens when someone presses the button. I had two occasions when I pressed it but then Gmod crashed on me.
It is very fun to play though. Seeing the pig bodies fly so high into the sky.
Had a great time playing this earlier tonight - it crashed once but overall worked fine. The most frequent glitch was the lua draw errors occasionally when someone leaves, but at least they don't affect gameplay.
The biggest problem really was people camping on the center roof in harvest, a location the chimera can't reach. This was usually solved by admins, but was still a problem. The other one being the inability to find the last few pigs, usually extending the round a long time. Perhaps there could be some kind of direction hint once over 70% of the players are dead (and there are at least 5 players), that would occasionally give a temporary arrow to the player(s)? This is combination with a time limit would help keep the endgame interesting, although a time limit to kill the chimera could still solve the problem by itself.
Despite these issues it's very fun. I know you've mentioned the problems with entering it in the fretta contest, but at least making it fretta-compatible would be good - it's well suited for bouts of ~20 minutes.

Make a folder called chimerahunt in your gamemodes directory and checkout with the URL above.
I've got a few errors fixed, raised jump height for both teams a bit, removed collision for the bird prop when a UC player dies, and now players that join while a game is in progress (unless all pigs are alive) will get sent to the deadpigs team. I also fixed the bug when a dead player would disconnect and it'd end the game prematurely.
How about X-Ray vision for Chimera.

How about fixing the water? Chimera cant bite in water, thus pigs would purposely try to camp in water area's on maps, such as gm_construct...they tried koth but the water was shallow, im sure they would of got chomped.
Oh and please dont make any xray visions or what ever like the user above posted, otherwise pigs cant sneak up on the chimera and try to press his button. It's hide and seek in a way but for both teams; the chimera has to watch his back.

Water is coming, I'd like to wait until FluxMage can get some swimming animations in (if at all) before I commit to it though.
Metroid48 seemed to have a decent solution to the "can't find pigs" problem. I'll mess around with it.

I wanted to make the Chimera float on top of Nucleus's invisible midpoint, but decided against it in case of AFK.
If dm_ maps work, I'll probably do a couple of those. If anybody has a specific map they want, just ask.
