Whats the point of this thread if it is not a Public gamemode. (Or are you just going to not release it and put it on a Public server?)

If they make it public, that too is okay. A lot of people ask to make GMs public but in the end, nothing really happens. Either it gets released and hardly anyone uses it on their server or it gets a lot of coding done and it gets halted for a long time.
Private gamemode? What is wrong with people.. -_-
The gamemode will be private (sorry).

Are the ships going to be large multiprops or just single props?

Well, hope you can afford a large size server then or else your probably going to lag a great deal. But good luck still though.

Why thinking about releasing or servers if you don't even have proper screens. It's been almost 8 months since you created this thread, and I haven't seen any apparent progress so far, other than :words: . Make an extremely simple test map and show us some screens, unless it's just a sandbox with boats and weapons, I don't really see any interest in this. From the OP, it seems to be way too complicated, if "creating your own ship" means "physgun and toolgun", you'll be pretty much sure your gamemode will run head first into the ground because such a degree of freedom will ruin any gamemode of that kind. Such a gamemode would require custom ship physics to minimize lag due to the massive amount of welds that would be required otherwise, and I strongly doubt you guys even thought about it. Having a powerful server isn't an excuse, if your gamemode consumes more resources than it should, then it's not quality work. Basically, you should re-think your gamemode completely, because I can't see it going anywhere, because your description is a huge clusterfuck that means nothing, much like how super realistic super awesome RP gamemodes are presented here and then die a week later. The way you are posting gives a lot of information about your overall skills, and I can safely tell you don't perfectly master Lua. You should start off with something simple, progressively give screenshots, ask for advice, and not act like a professional guy with a professional project which will come out with professional quality. Make your description simpler, cut down all the RP bullshit, and come up with a decent battle ship gamemode with primitive ships and primitive weapons. Even if your ships are crates that shoot melons, if you have working rules, then you are going somewhere. Once you have reached that stage, you can start refining your gamemode and add details.
I don't like screen but if you want screen wait for a minute (8 months that because i've stopped working on it =P)
That's a long minute. :v: How about you just admit that your project is way too complicated right now, you should really start up with something simple, and then add the details. I don't even know why I'm wasting my time writing those walls of text and useful advice if people can't bother reading it. Unless you need a french version.

Haha, okay, no problem then. Also, don't abandon your project, just start off with something simpler. Right now, you are planning too many features, and it will become confusing for yourself and anyone who is working with you, really.
