So i got Gmod with the Orange Box and i'm missing out on alot of things because i don't have counter strike.
My friend has some Half Life 2 CDs installed on his computer. He also has Counter Strike: Source and Half Life 2: Deathmatch installed. After checking his account info, he never bought cs or deathmatch, just Half Life 2 retail. So all three games must have been on those CDs.
However, when i tried installing them on my computer, only a Counter Strike: Source icon appeared on my Steam. When you click it, it brings you to the Steam page where you buy cs. There was the Deathmatch icon and the Half Life 2 icons didn't change at all.
Any help? Should i just go buy Counter Strike? Is it good?
I guess he bought Half-Life 2: Game of the year edition.
That comes bundled with CS:S, HL2DM, HL:S.
And these games are registered to his account, so if you install them from his CD, you still can't use them.
I mainly bought CS:S for GMod... most people did.

Yeah and it means CS:S not CS... Garry should change the Mounting menu's to have Source in front of them if the original name does, otherwise they will buy the wrong product.
