I always thought it would be cool to have a gamemode where you're in a big city with NPCs (Combine, citizens, and rebels most likely) and the players can help/kill/whatever the NPCs and each other. Maybe throw in a class system (something simple like TF2 though, no extraneous RPG elements or guessing what abilities your foes have) and some way to measure rebel/Combine control of the city.
We need ball-sel-systim2, because the first one wasn't very popular.
I'd like a new sort of space game were you don't build your ship but you choose from set lists. I guess to put it short, sunrise with shit loads of content.
Traction Town Wars.
Based on the moving towns and cities (though they would be waaay too big for gmod) from Mortal Engines that endlessly roam the landscape 'eating' resources out of forests and mountains and also eating other towns.
The way this would work would be for players to group together and build a traction town from large single parts. E.g. gut/base, drive system (tracks or wheels), generators/fuel tanks/engines/ tiers (levels built on top of the base and hold the houses, factories and so on) and control building on the top.
To keep their traction town moving and alive, players would have to take in resources from the landscape or other towns by either mining, trading or eating towns. I see 4 resources, food and water for the players on the town, fuel (as in trees and coal, not oil) for movement and lighting and so on, and metal for adding to the town (more houses, better generators and engines, defensive cannons, etc.).
If a town runs out of fuel, players must venture out onto the landscape on foot to harvest fuel to get their town going again before they are eaten.
As far as i can tell, most of the needed coding is already made in other gamemodes:
Resource/harvesting system from Stranded or Spacebuild.
Snap-together Traction Town parts based on the SBEP Hardpoint System
RP Elements (e.g. affiliated town, job, etc.) from an RP gamemode
