Imagine it will take only 5 minutes. Now if you are always asking for the server up in steam or in here, the time he will take in steam is more than 5 minutes, since with that question will come others! I personally can say that when i think for me, i want to ask bla, after that there will come like 34513 question to my mind, but i know that he needs to continue devolving the game mode and have he's real life, so i don't ask and wait until other opportunity comes, and if Maw doesn't answer just wait! Don't go like OMG! you blogged me Unblog me!, or stuff like Get the server up i want to play you don't do anything!
And i can tell other thing, the server goes down for one reason, if you are on the server will he is on and it is being updated, next time you will bugged, with no new stuff and probably need to get account reset if not deleted and create a new one!
If i'm not correct anyone can correct me, we should learn whit our error!

It would help if you explained the problems to people, rather than just blaming your playerbase.

Cake, you could always set your status to offline in the steam community, or Maw could do what many devs do, that being appoint a PR guy.

To call flaws in a gamemode in its early stages the fault of the clients is just absurd.

If the game was not ready to be played then there should not have been an open beta test. It is not the community's fault that the game was exploitable, or that things were broken. Sure it is in its beta, sure you have spent alot of time on it, sure what you have done so far is wonderful, but atleast have the honesty to man up to your mistakes. Don't put the blame on other people.

I suggest you make a steam group or some sort of forum to handle communications with the playerbase if you don't want to appoint a PR guy, because if dealing with a few chat messages every now and then, even if they say the same thing is too much to handle, how can you possibly run a community? Sure it can get annoying, I usually have thirty chat windows open and it can get confusing but it is part of the experience. To scorn people for sharing their ideas can bring nothing good. All man truly has are ideas. Ideas last longer than our bodies or anything we create. Ideas are timeless. Ideas are the cornerstone of development, and progress. If you can't handle people, don't put yourself in that situation. I have seen you snap at too many people for nothing.

There seems to be a massive lack of communication between the developers and the playerbase, and so that is likely a primary reason why questions and ideas get asked over and over again.

This is why a steam group or forum would benefit the mod. You can have everything organized all in one place.

Right now I am just disgusted with the way that people are treated in game. You have the group of people who exploit the trade system to make large sums of money at the expense of the stability of the server, and then another group of people who think that it is fun to pick fights, and are general dicks to everyone. Then there is a special sub group in each category, those being the people who claim to be either friends of the devs and admins who get to do what ever they want, and treat people like absolute garbage. This game has so much potential, but it is slowly and surely becoming a game of who played the longest, and who you know. I thought this could be the game that kept me in Gmod, but from the way things are going, I doubt that now. Unless the overall player interactions, and general communication improve, I am done with this.

Yeah you prop arent me so how can you know? I got a message from woodfin telling me constantly every day when i was done. and some hate mails from hegrec and nemesis and all those sassilization people. Also the server wasnt supposed to be up but since i had a problem with SlimSwitch being offline for around 20 hours i couldnt do it could i? i suggest leaving me to work and let me handle everything. If you got any questions or suggestions please give them to SlimSwitch or Cake is a Spy. I do not take anymore questions from public anymore. Only from Cake is a spy and SlimSwitch.

I was talking about here. And if you're trying to make a mod without any community input, then you're on the wrong track. You don't have to flame everyone who comes along and gives a suggestion.

Also, did anyone think about the new videos' ships being placed against the same color as they are, so you can't see them?
