Hey, lots of news to update you people with!. The map edu_college_b4 is done, and i have a ton of screenies to show you. View of the way up to the current exam room. People waiting at the lobby, abusing the bells. Close up of the lobby. View of the wire department, a random oak tree, and a fountain. Second oak tree and the fountain again. View of the front of the college View of both buildings. View of both buildings in a far nicer position. Otherwise, i've got word from our Lua coder RabidToaster that he's finally gotten round to coding our awards system, and it works, but i haven't seen it for myself yet. And at last, we have finished v1.0 of the basic garry's mod educational exam, which tests the players on the things we taught them and gets them a nice shiny badge on their steamid on any of our servers, thanks to Rabid's awards script this should either be currently doable, if not we will implement images later, but your awards are assured whether you have a badge or not!.
Yeah, The new map is so much more fun to teach in :v: Remember new-comers to pop along to my car making class, I hope you'll benefit from it :D

Map looks awesome! Can't wait until the server is up!
I was on yesterday teaching, and I tried to use the awards system, but it didn't work! The map is awesome, but needs to be a tad bit bigger and water would be nice. And also, I am getting a teaching room and the one that I reserved is kind of small, so could I have the one on the lobby floor, to the right of the spawn?

Everyone's so impatient :v:, Oh Dragon, did i show you last time i was on what furniture I'd like added into my teaching room?
The some-what release of VMF Suite is out, but it can only spawn saved VMF's and cannot save in game. Will it be available on the EDU servers? If not, I can see why.
guys, this is so cool, I've been wanting to learn wire for a long time.
Well there are lots of places on Gedu to leacrn it :)
I liked it. I learned how to use WireMod over there. I need to practice a bit more heh. Only thing I didn't like is the noobs that join it. I'm trying to learn Wire, and they spawn a Jeep and run over me. >.>
The cieling is still to low. :sigh:
We have had many people joining the past few days and learnt alot. Wire seems to be the main priority!
I was just hosting, the only person that joined kept spamming.
Probably because you're not hosting the official server or gamemode, and the ceiling isn't too low, it was too high in the edu_easy maps, hammer has guides to realistic wall sizes, and so does interlopers.net, and they both say the height used in this map is the right height for walls. On another note, SteveUK is working away (cool it rhymes :D), on our awards system, i'm working away on the edu_college_b5 map, and Jamie's away for a few days, so there won't be much activity till then!.

Edit: My ones up now.
No, the game mode was fine and no the ceiling it to low. Edit: My ones up now.
No, you just aren't the official server, and no the ceiling is NOT too goddam low, it's MEANT to be that height, according to hammer AND a professional mappers site, if you don't like it, just keep it to yourself because it isn't going to change for you.
That's not a bad idea :) You should help people with Wiremod
I hate when minges ask me to teach them how to make a turret when they don't know any Wire at all

I help people with wire occasionally. I was on this server, we wired up a rave party :excited:
Thanks. Very helpful.
That's pretty cool.I'm a noob in Garry's Mod,and I have no idea how to use the wire mod. Edit: I also hate exams...Oh well.

Edit: And if your going to keep it low than atleast add some more to outside.

And what would you class professional mr "i know better than the mapper that's been mapping for at least a fucking year", my latest map has been classes by EVERY person that's been on it so far as very well done, one or two have found the smallest of graphical errors, but never any brushwork errors (i fixed the graphical errors in the latest verion of my map), my maps are neat, and uniform, i pride myself in neat accurate brushwork, i've used custom textures to further heighten the experience of being on my map. From all that, no i'm not bloody professional, but at least i'm trying!. Edit: having reread your post, i have a further note, i never claimed it was the professional HEIGHT (learn to spell it right), i said it was the professional ADVISED HEIGHT.

Let's not get too worked up about something stupid like wall hight! First, who gives a shit? Second, I don't know many places where people sand on each other's heads indoors (or at all) in gmod, since that seems like the only thing that higher ceilings would provide. edu_collage is a lot better than edu_easy, because there is an actual outdoors part where most of the building takes place! not indoors, except for exams or lessons. Who needs to build in an aircraft hanger anyway?

You just can't take any criticism. Oh and at least I capitalize my "I"'s

Oh and at least I capitalize my "I"'s
I don't remember anyone saying the map was too small, my staff certainly haven't told me that anyone's said it, so it's probably you, capitalizing your "i"'s doesn't make you special, the grammatical use of I is nowhere near as important as the visible spelling mistakes you make, such as "way to small" there's two o's in too, and the world doesn't suck, even though everyone does copy everyone else, it's how life works, now PLEASE stop replying in my thread if you're going to argue about such stupid things. Edit: P.S. And wasn't you argueing too much with everybody the reason why you got kicked out in the first place?, please for everyone's sake stop argueing now, the advised roof height is the height i and many use, i'm not going to change it so stop telling me the ceiling's too low, i don't care if my i's aren't capitalized, they're hardly important or garry would decrease smartness for forgetting to do so.

You don't pay anyone, there volunteering so there not your staff. Also, you can't spell "arguing" correctly.
Your the one arguing about a simple spelling mistake and in fact "to" is one "O" ans since when did this become a business? You don't pay anyone, there volunteering so there not your staff. Also, you can't spell "arguing" correctly.
Are you SERIOUSLY SAYING that the sentence "there is too much" has the wrong "too" in it?, i know i spell argueing incorrectly, but that's a habit i can't seem to break as the word argue is spelt as it is, also "so there not your staff" has a they're there, for the soul reason that "so they are not your staff" makes sence, and the shortening of they are is they're. Yes they're volunteering, but the kind of project we're doing here makes them staff, they can leave when they like. Please now stop replying here, you're trolling, i've asked you once, i'm asking you again, stop now please.
<h1>Calm down, ladies.</h1> If you don't like constructive criticism feel free to ignore it, rather than resorting to grammar nazi wars (especially when you both make howling spelling and grammar errors in your rebuttals of each other). He spelt "too" correctly. "Too much" is spelt this way. "Going to the park" is spelt this way. Now grow up!
