Hey, i like you're willing to map for the server, but if you're going to map, send the stuff to me, i'm resident edu map creator.

Jamie's the serverside control, like mods and stuff :D.

Also, send me a VMF, i'd like to see what you've made in this map.

Shure i'll send you the map and vmf. It is called edu_f1_v1. Is it ok that I decompiled your map, edu_easy_b4 to get the signs, like Lonnge, Ex. Room...? That was my first real map, and I'm proud of it. I can make more too! I'd like to help out on the server. I can also teach a fair bit about gmod.

1. Is there a US Server?
-If not, does it matter I'm In Canada?
2. Do the "Teachers" Get admin on the server?
3. Whats the server IP?

1:I can answer this. There isn't a US Server... yet. With permission, I can start one. It will pe in Philadelphia PA, and if I can find a way to get money and for my perents to buy me a server,or if the guys from Christalice can fund it, I might set up one from Wolfservers.com. When I go on the UK server, I get about 80-100 ping, and that is not bad for a uk server, so you should be fine, unless you have 56k dial up.

2:I have applied for teacher and Jamie has requested for my steam id, so I think so.

3:For some reason that I can't explain, every time that they turn the server on, it gets a new ip. Just search for it by selecting the gamemodes tab in the server list.

that is a common error that happends with servers hosted at a home.
if you can you should get a server hosted at a Level 3 Datacenter or InterNap datacenter.

But yea, i would love to help. I know basic wiremod and decent on my way to advanced building.
Depends what it is i can build it and depends what props are on the server.

Well, yeah the server's hosted at a home, Jamie's home, on a 4 mbps connection on a separate computer, it lags a tiny bit when more than 5 people are on at once, and cool Canadian, i love Canadians!.

1: Is there a U.S.A server, well, as Finest1 said, he'll be able to do that, although CrystalIce hasn't as yet got any money so funding would be a tad difficult.

2: Teachers CURRENTLY get full admin rights, but as soon as i finish modifying an admin script to say what we need, you'll get limited admin rights as a teacher, and headteacher's Me and Jamie, get full.

3: Yeah, server's hosted at a home, therefore ip shifts, but the server's ALWAYS on an edu map, and always gamemode education, so look out for the combination of the two.

Ok i added you.

1. Well, hopefully there will be a US server soon, but for now that doesn't matter I guess. my ping may be in the low hundreds tho depends on where the server is located in the UK. Although I may be able to provide a TeamSpeak server and I could set up a website if you want, I'll talk to you on steam about that

2. Well a while back i had started a Admin System coded in ES (Event Scripts) if you want i could finish that and that could be used, if not there is always mani or beetles mod.

3. For a USA server I know a place that sells them at $1/slot and I know the technician from that company so I might be able to get him to setup a Garry's Mod server. Also I am very skilled with Steam Dedicated Server and know a lot about it, If you want I could manage the servers via FTP and such and if i was to have limited Admin on the server, I would not upgrade my admin on the server even if I had FTP unless you told me to because I'm not a dick.

$1 a slot? That is pretty good! Wolfservers has $1.50 a slot. Where is the datum center? New york or Virginia would be perfect. Hell, I get 20 ping on a wolfservers server in texas! Still it gets down to the money thing. I need to get some allowance, and mabey whe'll have a us company hosted server. That would be better because we could host more people, and it wouldn't crash/lag really as much. What would be cool, is if we had like build classes! I geuss it would require large maps, but I can make some.

The Server is in Kansas City but it get an awesome ping, I live on the west of Canada and my ping never goes over 100.

Although it's not at Level 3 Communications or InterNap, the datacenter is decent.

So I'll talk to the tech guy and talk to him about it and if he says that's fine then I'll PM you about it

At wolf servers we can get a Gmod 10 server with 10 slots for $15 a month no setup fees. I think that 10 is the min number of slots, but we can add some reserved slots for Teachers (admins). How many people do we have on the edu team? 5 or 6? If everyone pitches in like $2.50 a month, whe'll be fine.

Finest1, do you have xfire on anything that I could add you on? I could add you to gtalk but i don't go on gtalk often. I'm only on it when I check my e-mail because they have the client in the inbox and such.

I have one, but I never use it because xfire makes gmod crash. I also have Google Talk, but it also makes gmod crash. My steam name is finest1 I think. If you want my email it is [email][e-mail][/email]. And, i went to the fissioncore website, and it seems that all they have are teamspeak servers, not gameservers for gmod. I never use teamspeak because I don't have a mic. 15 slots sounds cool though.

well they do game server hosting you have to email them about it my cs clan has a game server from them. the tech guy is at his day job most likely so I'' talk to him when he is available which i might be able to reach him on AIM

Good Site! I think that the gmod school section needs some tutorials. Make some sections for various things, like wire, slingshot building, fort building, or just for the basic constraints and stools. Like, "Right clicking on a prop with the Hydraulics tool or the Slider tool, will put one of them at a 90 degree angle away from the prop and attach itself to the nearest object in it's path". Something like that and then show a picture of what it does. Good job anyway.

Well the other guy has a server that we can use if needed, he just needs to install an ftp program on it so i can edit the files on the server like mods and admin menu
