To be bluntly honest with you, I can never be sure about this. The attacks have been long, and you may notice we have had our servers back, but web host has been a different thing. To keep you updated on what we've done, we've just done a complete webserver backup and recreation, so we should hopefully be able to restore services ASAP.
This time, as its now officially the 1st of December ( where I live anyway ) I'm officially gonna leave you with snow, which you'll notice appear on the website when it's fully back up, and a few other things will begin to mysteriously appear. As usual during the festive season, and due to the downtime, i'm guessing that Dave will do a cut on donations, but no promises!

TnB and their community has it's ups and downs. The sad thing is it's the same few members of that community that ruins it for the masses. (not going to name names even though I could pop out 5 easily)
I'v been at TnB for over a year now.
I have to agree with some people saying, "Nazi Admins" Yes, there are a few people there that have to much power and just say "fuck off" if you try to talk to them.
On the other hand... I have quite a few good friends I have met there that play multiple games with. %90 of the community is fun to be around. It's the %10 of power hungry dip-shits that give it a bad name.
But keep it in perspective, it's the only place in any game that I know of that actually allow real RP. Not...

Having been in the community since early 2008, and having been an admin since about July of 2008, let me add my input: TnB is filled with a lot of prepubescent kids who need to learn some common sense, but at the same time, the community receives a lot of shit from ex-members who have left or been banned for a number of reasons, sometimes due to their own issues and sometimes due to others (like conflicts with Dave). As it has been said, getting DDoS'd is almost something of a hazing ritual every member has to go through, considering how often it occurs. We mostly try to downplay it only because people become fairly stupid when they go ranting off on blaming this and that for who did it and for why (see the constant complaints on Stan DeCarlo).
That said, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's down now and it'll eventually be up, for better or for worse, since there isn't a chance in it dying anytime soon. Also, yes, a handful of the administrators are pretty stupid, and I've said my opinions both in the administrative boards and the public boards, but you can't really do much about it without hitting the brickwall of groupthink. While some of our rules may be somewhat demanding and restrictive in some respect, it's usually to try uphold TnB's Half-life Canon, which is an entire topic of discussion on its own.

Truth be told, Ive never joined, entirely because of the fact I had to download over a fucking thousand files, or get ten gigs of custom content over filefront...

The rules are fairly bendy and only a few are strongly enforced. There's a lot of stupid hoops admins have to jump through to get things done. It was universally agreed by the administrators, and by a majority of the community, that certain players deserved to be banned. Nothing was done and their behavior continued for several months before we finally decided to say fuck it and just banned them one after another.
Sometimes it's a matter of dealing with the community, too. Having been there for two years, anyone who has seen me knows how strong of a grudge I can hold when it comes to players being fucking stupid. That said, if I was ever to just go all out and start banning players every time I saw stupid behavior, I'd get both praise and shit for my 'behavior' by admins and the players alike. You eventually get to the point where you kind of just learn to deal with the stupid behavior and learn when to put your foot down; for the most part, if I'm on and aware, I can usually stop stupid shit from starting up. Otherwise, you'll have to talk to each individual administrator on their procedures.

I've got a majority of reasons not to like TnB, but I'll settle it quiet simply. The admins do not enforce the server rules. How? Cyber, yiff, whatever the fuck you wish to call it... It's supposedly forbidden to roleplay sex, but for some reason almost every one I know can talk about great stories of rape, and all that shiz in TnB. My other reasons? MPF is full of power hungry kids, and they need to get their shit straight with the Half Life Lore. Important factoid MPF! You don't remember crap, and you just obey orders like a soldier without a voice box!

This is not surprising. Plus, their player base is kind of weird, when boys are girls and children are old men.
TnB should just shut down really.
Their whole system is fucked, they are constantly hacked, and everything is generally run down.
