Same problem here. Clean Gmod install, latest drivers, new saves, but the thing still crashes. If we can't save games, Gmod is nearly unplayable. I love Gmod, it's the greatest game ever and I know Garry works really hard on it, but this problem has been around for months and for countless people. When are they going to get on top of this? This is no small concern. Garry, please fix this. Thanks.
My saves are also crashing when I load a game using phx props.

Do you have PHX2?
The older versions of PHX cause this. It's a problem with the way it [b]used[/b] to work.

Ok, so I've got all the newest addons and the saves still don't work. I think there may be a problem with my Steam as it keeps updating my Garry's Mod with the same patch (or so it says when I load up update news) is it everyone who's crashing with saves or just a select few?

PHX2 is an older version then Final so you SHOULD mean final version.
Anyway, the patch better come out soon. I'm really tired of having to go to bed before I finish up something. I think the latest patch makes the game lag a bit more. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah Garry did promise the patch for 2 weeks ago, but nothing yet, i understand he is moving and such but still it would be nice if he actually kept us up to date on the patch/fix situation, the only thing i have managed to do since the screw up of the save game feature is try out the new stargate mod as well as the new hoverboard mod otherwise i have put my GMOD on hold due to the fact i can't save my progress.
I have the sam problem, but just recently found this that fixes the PHX models not working. It IS newer than full final.

I have the exact same problem. I'll spawn only a few items and save. I look at it and it crashes. Garry needs to fix this! Garry's Mod is truly my favorite game, and with all these bugs it's just unplayable! I'm getting crashes from destroying a lot of boxes, exploding 20 barrels at once, using nukes to destroy stuff, save crashing, and now my physics gun doesn't work! If Garry is reading this, I BEG YOU, PLEASE FIX THIS!

I know this is a bump to this topic... but i have a prob every time a download a save game or save a game i load it up everything is fine but nothing works!!! If you push a button to a certain contraption or something nothing happens... If you save npcs with the game you load them up but they are frozen in place!!! I need a fix to this too... PLEASE GARRY FIX THIS!
I have a similar problem but i have no problem with loading, my only problem is that when i go to save my game it stops and then a message pops up saying hl2.exe has stoped responding and then it closes down :( but this isn't the only time garry has messed up gmod with an update i think if he doesn't make a fix or something like that soon then people might stop playing altogether which would be a shame because it is such a great game.

same here i'm starting to get fed up with these errors with the game
Along with the save errors, I am getting hl2.exe crashed each time I play and get to a certan point in any HL2, E1 & 2 maps. Which is related to saving the map since the game crashes each time I hit an autosave point.

I have a slightly different bug...I can load the save just fine, and it doesn't crash, but whenever I try a tool I get a bunch of lua errors.
Well I am really P.O'd I am here in the new year for 2014 spent a whole day with my brother and sister making a really cool map and BAM. It wouldn't let me save it but, thankfully my brother could. Later he tried reloading it and crash. Either the mann fixed it and broke it again or he just never fixed that problem (oh and P.S I tried the clean version and It still didn't work).
