We can play an older garrysmod!
We can play an older garrysmod!
GMod 9 broke with the hl2 update if anyone wants to fix it be my guest.
does that include 9.0.4.c?
there should be a way to force the client.dll to be loaded if the checksums dont match, steal TF2s
A more accurate tutorial on how to use the SVN GMod: 1) If you haven't already done so, download and install TortoiseSVN here: http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html 2) Create a folder in steamapps\sourcemods called garrysmod. Basically you're making a mod. 3) Right-click the new garrysmod folder and click SVN Checkout in the menu that appears. 4) In the 'URL of repository' box of the dialog that appears, put this URL: https://facepunch.svn.beanstalkapp.com/gmodgame/trunk/ 5) Wait for it all to finish downloading. 6) Restart Steam. 7) In your Steam library there should be two Garry's Mods listed. One of them is a mod, the other is the Steam game. Run the mod. 8) Profit. This will only work if you have Garry's Mod on Steam installed, as the 'mod' you just created runs off SteamAppID 4000, which is the Steam Garry's Mod.
But we can't join servers with this, right?
If you start up a LAN we should be able to. Someone make a LAN game tell us the IP then we will make the biggest fort ever! Or should I make the LAN?
We can't play online with SVN? D: what's the point then
We can't play online with SVN? D: what's the point then
You can just most servers aren't running the SVN so we should make a LAN ill do it once SVN finishes.
Going to take a look at the svn + i got gmod 9.0.4.C working.
If I make a LAN game will anyone join?
If I make a LAN game will anyone join?
Depends on your connection.
If I make a LAN game will anyone join?
I might :)
I guess it depends on where everyone is.
whats your upload?
Where can I find out?
http://www.speedtest.net/ do a test
http://www.speedtest.net/ do a test
Already tested. My upload is 1.60 mbps.
hmm not that great but it will hold some players. I say create da server! (you do have your ports opend incase you hava router right?)
Already tested. My upload is 1.60 mbps.
That's not too shabby. You should be able to host a 10 player server with ease. You should start a TTT server, in fact.
I effing hate my router I can't open the ports FUCK.
ninja'd :ninja:
then wait some mins. I'm in the proces of downloading the svn version.
I effing hate my router I can't open the ports FUCK.
Why can't you open the ports?
Why can't you open the ports?
Well its not easy. For LAN I was going to use hamachi.
Multiple reasons. 1.he doesn't know the password (1.1.his parrents won't tell the password) 2.he doesn't knows his ip 3.he doesn't know the ports 4.he doesn't know the gateway
Anyone know how large the SVN is? I'm at 120 MB now...
Roughly 200 MB AFAIK.
Multiple reasons. 1.he doesn't know the password (1.1.his parrents won't tell the password) 2.he doesn't knows his ip 3.he doesn't know the ports 4.he doesn't know the gateway
I know all of those so :fuckoff: Anyway My router is shitty. I ca't browse my computer for programs it just has a list. srcds isn't in that list. I'm not sure if hamachi is on that list ill go check.
no idea lot of phx stuff in it. Eeuhm what router do you have?
That's actually pretty close I think, I'm not sure though I started the SVN and walked away, came back a couple mins later it was finished so I clicked ok.
