So, I've left garry's mod running for the past 24 hours. It's playable now, but as soon as I restart steam will it download the update or do I already have the update downloaded and ready to install after it restarts? Just curious if disabling updates for garry's mod and running in offline mode would be any help at this point or not. I don't want to go crash the game and find myself fucked.

Not sure if it'll work, but it sounds like it could. Was just browsing the properties to find a way.
well i guess ill go play some dod
Damn, add me I want to play some too.
find myself fucked.
Garry's Mod is the only thing you can play?
I know how to do it, my question was asking if it will work or not. I don't know if the update has already been downloaded or if it's downloaded after steam restarts.
Garry's Mod is the only thing you can play?
No. But that's neither here nor there. I'm looking for answers to the questions I asked.
Anyone find it ironic on how people begin to play gmod after 5 months or so or just bought the game today and cant play it due to a fail update? It seems to happen every time
Anyone find it ironic on how people begin to play gmod after 5 months or so or just bought the game today and cant play it due to a fail update? It seems to happen every time
People probably being to play again after a long time every day, but when there's an update that breaks things they seem to post about it.
Isn't there someway to roll back the update?
It's not his fault, you idiot. Valve updated the engine and Garry wants to stay with the latest version of the engine because it makes the game better. Right now he's trying to get the updated GMod to run on the Mac properly.
I was talking about all of the other times he cocked up. Idiot.
When I open Garrysmod I get an Engine Error: "client.dll init in library client failed" how do I fix this?
When I open Garrysmod I get an Engine Error: "client.dll init in library client failed" how do I fix this?
The OP is precisely the same question as yours. Valve has to fix it. Late x 9000.
Gentlemen... ...Gmod has been fixed (officially via Steam)!! You may rejoice now.
Finally
I seem to have another problem now. Disconnecting from server causes my gmod to crash.
I know it's working now, but Valve needs to do engine updates on Mondays. That way mod developers (like Garry) have as much time as possible to get the fixing done for people to still be able to play during the weekends (when they have the most free time to play.) On second thought, Valve did respond to the update notice on a Saturday, but maybe that's a fluke (say an employee was working overtime or something; not sure how that works at Valve) or maybe someday they will have budget cuts and not be able to work on weekends anymore.

Well its still not working for me
