But the whole law thing, this is GMod, seriously. I could give it away to all for free and no court would care :P
Please Note: NO ONE Can work on this unless I (Mandalore 777) give permission doing so can be punishable by the fullest extent of the LAW. The gamemode is licensed under my name, Fizzadar if you do wish to work on this I'd like to help, it mainly stopped because everyone quit nothing really I myself could control. (Note: Me saying this does not give you permission to work on it or distribute it) If you wish to do so we can discuss this on steam you have me added. From there we can come forth with the appropriate agreement.
You doing this is ILLEGAL. But because I love fizz so much its okay = ].
Anyone else find this as hilarious as I do?

Ok, Seeing as my "You're gonna get banned" senses are tingling, maybe I'll go into some detail.
I honestly doubt this guy has a legal leg to stand on. He'd probably be laughed out of court...then subsequently mauled by Lucasarts'/Lucasfilms' lawyers.
Im not sure deadeye is ever going to release the maps ( Him being the main Mapper, and someone that i personally look up to :3 ), and with good reason. Just like releasing the code probably wasn't the best idea ( Just don't give it to ANYONE and we should be good :V: ). The main modeler ( Elegwa ) probably doesn't want his models floating around either. Im sorry i can't help you with any of this, and it IS a shame it died.. We had some great ideas coming along. Half of the problem was the Devs ( No offence intended ). Half of us were busy with School/Army/Work/Gawd Knows what, that we never really got anything done. And too many times did the 'mode have troubles with leaders etc.
All in all, i can say that im all-for someone picking it up again, and might even go so far as to lend a hand ( AFTER the Instancing script, and when i get my Fast net back /me Rages at telefail )
Deadeye ran the website.
Deadchicken is the lead mapper.
Its not illegal, Mandalore. The courts wouldnt care shit. Seeing as your team has fallen, let Fizzadar take over and release a version to the public. You are being way over protective.
I still need models and maps to make this happen, PLEASE can someone get in touch with the original team of modlers/mappers?
I'm here. Been Reading. I'll contact you when I get on Steam.
You're one of the few I'd get back into this with.
Looks awesome so far.
Looks awesome so far.
What?
Read the last page.
Damn i missed out on alot didnt I... Sigh* I just wish I could help. Maybe we can find a way to make this happen again but noone would so... meh. I'm going back to play GTA IV or Skate 2... Unit X22 is my gamertag... love to hear from someone.
Google Star Wars Galaxies and you'll get a suprise
Very nice looking. I'm interested to know something though. My understanding of copyright law isn't great, but can you really claim the rights to a gamemode based off an already owned property?

Probably, but no court/justice system would give a shit
Too bad it died.
But to be honest, you guys took too much hay on your fork.
Well played though.
Isn't "M-Class planet" a Star Trek term? =D
I saw this coming 29 miles away.
Hasn't this died like 3 times or something along those lines?

Its people like you that bring dev's moral down..
It was more about organisation. Im not going to speak for the whole team, but i know some of us didnt like how it was changing. You never know, someone could just be making SWO right now, away from the public eye, and the likes of the above poster.
Personally, I want to lay the blame on school starting... most of us suddenly got dragged away from our programming to go and do shit.
Damn, I was mostly looking forward to the M-Class Maps. That shit looks fucking awesome.

From what the other team members told and showed me m-class maps were figured out by the wiremod team, so look their site up and search for it.
I don't know too much, I was just told we might switch the maps we were creating to class-m.

Yeah, but the thread is dead and I haven't found any other discussions on it.
IT LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME COME ON.
The thread said how to create them I think?
I just remember it used the void glitch where a certain way a map is compiled it will cause the map to repeat itself infinitely in the void and that is how class-m maps work, I think...

You're stupid. The repeated maps are clones of the first map, yes, but they cannot be used. They are still technically in the void. Did you even read the Wiremod thread?
He said that M-Class maps are basically normal sized maps, but they use a script that shrinks down everyone and everything to small sizes. The size of the actual map doesn't change, everything else gets smaller.

I did read it. About a year ago around the time people started experimenting with the void, also part of wire mods forums. Chill.
The shrinking of stuff is what I heard empires did. Talking to the rest of SWO team I heard we weren't doing that due to physics problems and map scale being thrown off.
Empires didn't shrink stuff, and it isn't possible to shrink stuff properly in lua. However, Eternal Silence did, and you can see the results there. It's a great idea, but it's a ton of work.
To clear things up, the reason this died was because not everyone worked things were in poor order and not everyone worked together. One thing would get done and if 1 person disagreed there was no room for compromise the team in general was not generally good at communicating as well as we should have. Mostly just a lot of mapping got done other than that nothing really worked so I dont really see how it looks "awesome" other than the maps which still wernt even polished and completed correctly, The maps had a lot of geographical issues that needed to be sorted out and optimization steps to go through. As far as code goes if anyone of you wanna work on it message me on steam Mandalore. Ill give you the whole thing cause im not pursuing to gather another team and start this again.
