Your Top 10 Worst Addons for gmod? - Garry's Mod

Now time for me to make a list. 10. some of the Custom Backgrounds (Either they are just crappy posed ragdolls or just porno. I'm supprised they arn't banned yet.) 9. PHX (The MOST BORING props in existence! Example of how to lose your imagination.) 8. Wire mod. (Destroyed the idea of Garrys mod.) 7. Portal swep. (There are many others but this is one I got. first of all the most important thing is to see the portals. Seriously it just creates two invisable portals and they teleport you instantly.) 6. ADV dupe Npcs (They never work so STOP MAKING THEM!) 5. Dark Flatgrass (Its just a completly dark version of Flatgrass. Whoever thought of this idea needs to be shot.) 4 Fast and Poison Zombine. (This is a good addon. Untill I found out it was just adv duped Zombine ragdolls with headcrab ragdolls on them. TOO EASY. Want to see it for yourself? It makes no sense these days. You can get ammo automaticly and once the humans get to a safe spot its not scary anymor... scratch that. The entire Gamemode isn't scary.) 2. DarkRP (WORST. GAMEMODE. EVER! If you have a DarkRP server SHUT IT DOWN RIGHT NOW!) 1. Robo playermodel. (Does this thing even FUCKING work? All I see is just some useless files plus useless information. 10. Kitty Mod, its just broke. plus removing it gets rid of your Headcrab model 9. Gcombat, its bland and wayyy underpowered. i think a Tank Gun should destroy a door in one shot. 8. PHX, at first it was great, but it needs an upgrade. Its too "blocky" like Legos. 7. Custom Sweps, most don't have custom sound or effects, and most aren't all that useful. 6. NPC packs, why can't they have talk-to-player sounds? It's just kill-sounds that aren't gender-specific. 5. Adv. Dupe's (any kind), i don't like them, but thats just me griping. 4. Custom Backgrounds, do i even need to explain? 3. DarkRP, crap in it's purest form. playing with shit is more fun. 2. Flatgrass remakes and maps without Node Graphs, wtf are novice mappers thinking?! 1. Wire Mod, in my opinion is aweful and extremely limited if one can't learn it. Also wire-smart people are assholes. If you ask "how did you do that?" they say "Wiremod you fucking minge-ass noob gtfo lololol roflcopter." Wire is a virus that corrupts people and ruins creativity, and i don't like it. How do people learn Wire anyway? its not like you can spawn 6 CPU's 4 Memories, a wire button and get the way to stop the common cold. Do you really need to use an online tutorial to use a fucking addon? Also, i would rather play a game, not play Math Class god dammit. 98% of the Gmod community disagree's with me on that though. i also hate having to have SVN which seems highly unsafe, just to keep up with the buttfuck of new files being pumped into Wiremod. Even with the latest update to Wire, you go into a server just to see the infamous ERROR signs. You ask "now wtf is that buddy?" and he says, "Oh a wire engine for my wire buggy." And you say, "Well shit i should be able to see it, i just updated two hours ago." and he says, "they just updated it 10 minutes ago." I could go on for hours on why i hate Wire, surely someone out there has to agree with me.

I'd like to add the PHX is not one of the worst addons, it is the most comprehensive, multi-use building material addon out there. If you're content to use blast doors on whatever flat contraption you make, then go right ahead. Besides, there's a wonderful tool called "MATERIAL" under Render, have you ever heard of it? Backgrounds are not ADDONS for your playing experience, they are BACKGROUNDS. ADDONS are used when you're actually playing the game, BACKGROUNDS make the front-end look nicer. Whoever posted something as their #1 being billy mays, billy mays ADDONS suck. Billy Mays does not. R.I.P. Now about wire...I agree, some things about it do suck, such as how often it updates. I don't understand the grand majority of it, and I'm sure I'm not alone. But it allows you to be much more creative, and that's what this game is about, yes? Try making a 12-disk CD player in GMod without it. Seriously, I dare you. I was taught how to make one and man was it fun. Yet I will still post a list and not make one comment about any of them that gets me flamed. 10. Conna's and Malawar's stuff. 9. NPC packs. 8. Portal device. 7. Re-uploads of re-uploads re-uploaded. 6. PHX1 and 2, and their re-uploads. Not PHX3. 5. Uploads of wire on garrysmod.org. 4. Stargate. While it itself is good, it just messes up so many other addons. 3. EVERY flatgrass except for gm_flatgrass and gm_flatgrass2008 (the one with the round land and water around it). 2. Smart weld. 1. FILE NOT FOUND.

Im not sure if this is an addon but, that one addon that says something like "Creating stuff to fast! Slow down, wait __ seconds" i hate having to try to weld things and im being slowed down by that fucking "addon"

Wiremod. Wiremod ruined the way people make contraptions, and then E2 ruined the way people use Wiremod. Because of wiremod gmod gets worse every year

pretty much agree with your entire list, if Phx had more props that didn't just look like grey boards it might be useful, but anything you build with it just looks out of place. :( I never learned wire, I don't want to learn wire. I think Garry said somewhere himself he thinks it's sad. Everything's wiremod now and I just gnash me teeth when someone makes a new sTool addon and people post "can you make it work with wire" how about no.. just press the keypad button and stop being such a sperg. The only other thing not on your list that I hate about gmod is these ULX and ASSmod tools. I love how easy it is to kick and change maps and keep track of people. But There's no reason to make someone blind or explode, if they're being a nuisance, you kick them. These things just make server admins into the mingebags that should be banned. Oh! And Admin weapons. yet more unnecessary power lust bullshit. "This gun shots 100 rnds a second and does million damage can kil anything lol but only admin can use it" hey, guess what, admins can just type "cexec <user> kill" (or whatever) into the console and insta kill them that way too, big deal. kick 'em and stop being a bigger mingebag than the one you're kicking. rant over \o/

Are there still ban gun SWEPs nowadays? I remember back in Gmod 9 there were idiots who had kick/ban guns available on their servers.

PHX3 Was one of the best things that came to Garrysmod, it made it easier for people to make constructions and if you dont like little things like the Material why not just use the Material tool?

I agree with you on the Wiremod, It isnt that it is bad, it just it very confoosing. It would be 500x better if I has a masters degree in Physics Engineering

PHX is just "weld 4 huge plastic bland props and call it a jail" or make a broken car with it, or using that FUCKING HUGE 1000X1000 piece and block the spawn with it. PHX and Wiremod has taken the creativity out of GMod, now a days its "hurfs durf lets maek a turret wid wire" and seeing huge shit blocking 50 percent of the map in 2 props. I only have wire because, frankly, I can't see shit on most servers cause its "ERROR" (wire and phx) or a extremely small "PEE SEE RHAM CARD". Seeing that makes me rage, because not only do you have to sit through 12 year olds saying "OH SHIT get wire" or people who sound like they're in their 40s saying "get fix" while blocking the white room in construct to make a shitty green screen movie or making it entirely black and making sex poses. :cheers:, oh and have fun programming the E2s that crush people, effectively wasting 3 hours of your life.

lol Regular Tools - Making a Turret: Spawn a turret with the number you want on the numpad. If you want to attach a button, Add this: Button, With the same numpad number. Wire Tools - Making a Turret: Spawn a turret, spawn a numpad (or button), wire them together. Wiremod is not hard. It has more features than regular tools. Wiremod didn't ruin anything.
