Too bad that most likely will never be able to happen on Garry's Mod.
This comes to mind. I remember some pretty epic events on it. In fact the example I said above came from an event on this server. The game didn't actually have a crumbling building, it was happening in the story because the chat from the admins said so. Doesn't sound very exciting on this post but when I was playing it kept me on the edge of my seat. RP is an epic version of make-believe.
Thats how it was originally thought when RP first came out. Gmod 9 rp I heard was much better than this shit we see today.
Nothing with Dark and RP next to it in the name.
A community where i am is running a zombie apocalyptic server.
You might think it's overused idea, but with things like advanced story-progressing and regular events it will be more unique. With advanced story-progressing i mean the thing that Xeloras stated. There are main characters who make the story go forward eventually.
You miss the point. In stories admins are able to spawn things and start major plot events using their powers. It isn't to their advantage, but it is to keep the game fresh every once in a while and progress the story that they've made for the server. An admin can play as this super mutant giant that everyone must take down together while he is toppling over the building all the people are standing on, for example.
This is what I'm talking about, in Olden (yes, you probably hate it) it's usually the greater majority of the server against a single, or team of powerful entities that the playerbase is given the opportunity to take down. An Admin's actual character should not be immune to development to become more influential or powerful, but the admins should be able to play major roles that can help influence the story or turn it in a certain direction.
