Probably not, but after this next update I don't think Garry's going to do much else.
It's not about how far it can go, It's about how far you can go. As long as I can think of things I would want to build, then it will still have my interest.
But as far as updates, isn't Garry working on updating the engine?

I think if and when anyone be it Valve or Garry makes a new source engine or update it'll give Garrysmod a further lease of life.

It'd be more likely to be Valve. I don't think Garry has an interest in making an engine.
It wouldn't be called a Source engine if Garry made it anyway, but that's beside the point.

I have been playing Gmod since 6a, and I believe Gmod has reached it's potential. The reason why I believe so is it seems Garry just doesn't put in the effort anymore. Gmod relies too much on the community to add features that Garry should have done long ago. It is ridiculous that we have to download add-ons for official content like L4D or L4D2. We should have all of Valves content available in Gmod. Maybe its time Gmod went away, and Valve to make an official game like "Source Sandbox" or something.
Garry is making a new update to GMOD and he is going to try it to the Mac. Also he can't have L4D stuff because it doesn't run on the Orange Box engine. Also why would Valve want to make there own "Sandbox" when Valve gets a cut of the money. Also GMOD IS official, they flew Garry to Valve HQ and everything and talked to him about it.
