Many people have been drawn away from the fact that GMod is a Half Life 2 modification compatible with other source game content such as Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2, if roleplay is introduced, then it should be a Half Life 2 City Roleplay (Eg. Cakescript, Tacoscript), a Terrorist/Counter Terrorist roleplay meaning the terrorists bombing a destroyable target in select maps or a rescue the hostages mission, instead, we have things like Dark RP, which have nothing to do with either game...
Joes, neither does barrel mania have to do anything with HL2 (besides using the barrel props)
neither does sandbox even(the building part of sandbox). Gmod gamemodes don't necessarilly have to be connected to CSS/TF2.
Just turn on some options to reduce minging and everything's fine.

Im not talking about sandbox, im talking about roleplay. All roleplays (not counting things like tacoscript and cakescript) have these weird corrupted ideas in their heads that you can turn any street corner and find someone dealing guns (Dark RP) or you have a small interface where you can buy all the useless shit you need (Gmod RP). (And, yes, i know Taco Script and Cake Script have that interface, yet it is excused by the advanced combine technology) In other words, there are so many uses for just these three games, yet all we can mostly come up with is gun whoreing DarkRP and the most person with the most crap wins GModRP

But I actually like DRP. Best RP script out there, only fun I've ever had in a public RP server is one that is running DRP, or running Vanilla (no script BS, just classic like in the g' ol' days of V7 onwards).
Melonbrew was pretty good for private RP. Just a shame that almost everyone was a nazi (and they weren't roleplaying that, either).

I went onto a DarkRP server once and one the player pre-jobs was KKK. So I go that and start running around shouting racial slurs at the Black Cobra. I get banned. I come back in and the admin says you're not supposed to roleplay with them, you're supposed to shoot them.

PERP sucks. I hate to admit it but it really fucking does. I remember playing as a police officer one time and I was sitting at the Gas Station with a friend talking about a drug bust I did with some others and the same noob I drug busted rammed me with his car screaming 'FUCK NLR' on the mic so the second I got revived by my buddy I send in a warrant request to the mayor,get it chase the guy pull him over,arrest him,and get banned for being a bad cop. Exactly... I was seriously just talking to someone (medical guy) trying to make some rp and thats when the guy disobeyed NLR. It was so annoying. I also went onto the PE Site and told them about what happened and someone posted on the forums "W3ll tha wast rp nub!" I totally lost all liking for perp after that.
Thats why I go to the Serious server. But stills a little bit mingy. But not much as their LiteRP. I was making some fences when a mingebag grabbed the fences. I tried to punch him but he had an AK-47...

Actually it's not the player's fault or the script's fault, it's the admin's fault.
They make a server, it's their responsibility to make it work.
12 year old angry rejected admins are the best to minge, you kill them, they'll noclip there as fast as they can (even tho by then I'll be far away) and instead of thinking, they ban the first one they see near the area he died.
I actually like darkrp servers, they always make me laugh.
