Not really if a game mode is private and kept to one or 2 servers player bases are large and the server have lots of people on, but if you have lots of servers running it as freeware, the players are spread out and the servers arn't as appealing because theres only like 5-10 players on the servers.
Thats the one problem with Games Now a days to many servers players are spread apart there are no almost full servers.. well with the except of a few.

I would attempt to keep the gamemode private myself, As if to many servers run it there will be no full active servers.
Why do you think DarkRP has very little players on the servers?
Not because its bad, its a quick easy gamemode to setup and sometimes can be enjoyable But there are to many servers running it.

That. Technically your precious PERP 2 script can become as bad as DarkRP, all it takes is shit administration and a awful player base. Dark RP is fine if your server itself is decent enough. And you don't edit it like a 12 year old, adding useless guns/ jobs.

Exaggerating much? He has every right to host the gamemode he created and it is in no way, shape or form "Screwing customers over".
Face it, you paid $300-$400 for a gamemode. You should have just hired a LUA scripter for that price to create your own [I]unique[/I] gamemode.
