People don't want 11 year old kiddies to make shitty edits of good gamemodes.
And to keep a popular community popular you need a good gamemode to not be public so people have to play on the server, it's a fact.

Besides, it's all personal opinion. And past events do not definitely dictate the course of future events. Just because you think Windows has a shitty community because Linux is open source does not mean Nori's community will be shitty because he hasn't released his script publicly.

This is why communities fail. People that make those edits are trying to learn lua. Those people will become the creators of the next best gamemode out there. How did Rick Dark learn lua? By making one shitty ass gamemode called DarkRP? Now look at all the people learning lua from one shitty mod? If you can wrap this around your head you will learn that releasing gamemodes helps the community out tons.

Rick Dark didn't create darkrp, that was Rickster. Anyway, atleast Rick Dark started off by making his own, not basing it on another.

inb4 Nori's rebuttal about how he believe's my server's playerbase is full of retarded 12 year olds (a fair bit of it probably is) when the only time's he's visited my server was while he was trolling the shit out of it.
That being said, I learnt that Rick Dark != Rickster. This was a productive visit to this thread. LightRP still tops DarkRP imo.
