My personal take on this is, just because it seems pointless to you, doesn't mean it's not pointless to someone else. Garry doesn't want to deny the right for people to share stuff that other people may download, even if very few, most uploads will be downloaded by people; they should get this ability to be able to upload whatever they like, seeing as they paid to buy Garry's Mod.
tl;dr: People buy GMod, they get to upload whatever the hell they want. Just not warez/reuploads/svn. (hopefully)

Actually that's not what I am saying at all. I agree that there are pointless uploads, however I disagree with how Gregster handles himself on the forum and the way he speaks to some users. Just because things he has uploaded may have had downloads, I don't see what makes his stuff better than someone else's.
At the end of the day, people have paid to play Gmod, so in real terms they should be able to upload whatever they want to gmod.org (obviously not stolen content) no matter how crap or pointless anyone finds it. Garrysmod is a community where people share ideas, if you think that these pointless uploads waste bandwidth, this is Garry's problem not ours.
