I have bolded what i know to be true and therefore agree with.
You dont actually need lua knowledge though, your server was awesome because that most of the people who played there where great roleplayer's, not because of some script.

Any game's maximum level of fun is directly tied to the skills of the players to do what the developer intended. For instance, before l4d2 was out, I was having a great time on L4D1. Most of the good players went to 2 after it was out, and now every other server in l4d1, I get kicked for 'hacking to stay alive longer'.
DarkRP is only fun when you create trillions of dollars randomly around the map and everyone is RDM'ing with house wars etc.
