Yes, you're right, there is still some good that comes from coderhire, but now inexperienced server owners are able to host a server with actual good content, I mean, look at DarkRP Reloaded, it's been up for what, 2 months? It's already at rank 1 on gametracker and gets more players than modifiedRP.
It's creating a lot competition for people that actually work hard on their server, next thing you know the top 10 servers will be owned by rich 13 year old kids.
This is an incredibly stupid statement. I'm not even going to waste my time and elaborate.
lol..

Or you don't own enough braincells to do so.

What? 80% of the scripts on ch are either badly made simple stuff (like the scripts in this thread), or crappy HUD edits/Pointshop skins with badly made design decisions. (Like this laser blue-black DarkRP skin that makes a sound every time you hover over any item in any menu, so you are constantly spammed with sounds for no reason.)
I wouldn't say buying from coderhire makes your server unique in any way too, since most servers buy there now.
You know what makes you unique? Coding the stuff yourself so only you have it. The fact that this bewilders so many server owner is beyond me.

Don't you dare fucking diss Captain Qwark.
Thank you, and have a qwarktastic day.
I'm sorry.. I had to.

Now I feel bad about my grammar :C I was just trying to be kind, and get some positive reputation.
(User was banned for this post ("Image macro" - Craptasket))
So, we arrived to the point that Coderhire just bans people for no fucking reason?
This totally affected my overall esteem of the service.
server owners always want to hire me to do that, but refuse to pay more then $100.
why would I bother when I can sell it as a script and get 5x as much.
even if they get a coder working for free, one day either the owner or coder will have a bitch fit and the community will collapse. Owners definitely should learn some lua, they don't have to code a whole new gamemode, but they should be able to make some smaller things

Ye there is a very fucked logic that goes around where by people think because they started it they have a right to rule but in reality the only owner is the coder and in theory the coder should be hiring a manager.
Most people think because they have an idea they have a community but in reality they should be taking their idea to a bigger community to nurture it. That would never happen though and we know that and the reality is 99.9% of current communities of managed like an shite

Well, I currently run a quite new TTT server and coding is just not an option. Everything I could think of is either too difficult for my lua learning brain (like modifying the scoreboard that it shows the rank, and you can change the rank etc.) and small things like new weapons are just too much. Why do you need 5 versions of the same weapon? I just add small things that I come across in the internet, that looks cool and not to overwhelming (like a timeslow addon at the last kill).

Learning lua from a 0 experience in programming takes a max of 20 hours dedicated to it

Keep in mind that there are lots of server owners in the exact same position as you. Like, if you cannot code and run a TTT server, that's okay and I hope it goes well, but do understand that it will be harder to keep players coming back if you offer only things that can be found on the other 100 custom ttt playgrounds out there.

Thats why we want to do quite a lot and unique events, while i'm actually learning LUA :)

TTT is le bitch, don't just need code.
Hell, code isn't even the main thing to getting a server popular. a few guys all friends and always playing on gamemode xxx could get a server popular through dedication.

uhh
alright
I didn't realize everybody learned everything at the same pace.

Works just fine, what I was talking about is the owner finding some player to be his dedicated coder, because drama between the two emerges, usually when the coder gets pissed when the owner asks him to do impossible/impractical things, or just generally things he doesn't wanna do.
