Ad on website led me to flash games. Flash games led me to ragdolls. Ragdolls led me to Half-Life 2. Half Life 2 led me to Garry's Mod.

Idiots of Garry's Mod, Gmod idiot box, Half-Life: Full Life Consequences, those dumb/silly TF2 videos...
Basically, yeah. YouTube.
a friend told me about it and when i saw it i got horny and bough it and joined some darkrp server, this was 2008
My mate was showing me portal on youtube when we found a video while watching portal playground. after asking him what it was he told me it was gmod. 2 years later i saw it and got steam just for that game. ive had it for about a year or two now and its the best game ever.
Some guy on Xfire told me to get it. It's also how I came across CS:S.
I was just looking for mods, found Gmod 9, and played it like a bitch. Gmod 10 came out and I told a few friends. Now most of them play :buddy:
Saw my dad playing v4 or v5, can't remember.
I downloaded it right away.
My friend showed me it a few years ago, then my other friend showed me the rest of the Half-life games, along with Steam.
To this day, I still hold the first guy responsible for starting the civil war between the two friends.
i just watched a load of old gmod movies and i said, i want this.

It was funnier back 4 years ago.
I played at a friends house in around 07 or 08, and then bought it in 09 and joined facepunch in 10.
I discovered it back during version 3, then signed up around version 4 I think. It's been so long ago.
So many cool things happened that no one would remember, too. I remember the first models being ported, playing garrysmod online FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Like when characters were only gordan placeholder models with no animations.
Then there was the time where we first got a spawn screen too, and I remember a time before fingerposing. There were some thrifty gents who added fingerposing to the face posing and that's how we used that the first time ever.
And so much more, lol.

Or Concerned.
Or watching random Nuke Pack vids.
OR! Seeing a PC Gamer review, I think?
Someone posted about it in a thread on escapist magazine.
Was looking for fun things to put on my LAN CS 1.6 server, found this:

This video made me get GMod.
I found a video of GMOD9 it in early 2006. I then instantly bought 10, and have been playing it frequently since. I think I still have Gmod 2007 installed somewhere on my system.
I was looking for physics games, found this website, and Garry's Mod was #1 on the list so I looked at it and found it to be the best game I had ever seen.
Steam.
friend told me to download gmod 9 so i did and was like bam im playing this from now on and i also tried previous versions which were much harder to play with
Back in '05, saw pictures on GMod 5 on PlanetHalflife, and they had the www.garry.tv watermark on them (all screenshots did back then, I believe)
Picked up Garry's Mod 9 just before 10 came out. I should of stopped lurking Facepunch sooner :smith:
A friend introduced it to me ~6 years ago
