Portal 2 doesn't have poseable props
Portal 2 doesn't have poseable props
I'll bet that GLaDOS, Atlas, P-Body, and Chell are all ragdolls.
He's not going to. Eventually when Half Life 3 is released, garry has said he will move onto that engine. Portal 2 is a branch of the main engine.
Garry's Mod runs on Source engine version 16 Portal 2 runs on Source Engine version 2001 the textures are incompatible and perhaps the most troublesome computability issue is that the Portal 2 branch has completely different vertex file system the vertex files store all of the mesh rendering data in the orangebox branch a model will have 3 vertex files a DirectX 8 vertex (.dx80.vtx) a DirectX 9 vertex (.dx90.vtx) and a Software mode vertex (.sw.vtx) The portal 2 branch hoverer only has one (simply .vtx) this is the reason why attempting to put portal 2 models into Garrys Mod without any modification will just crash it. You fool. The 2001 thing is a typo. Its now 2010. First of all, the model extension has changed, the polygon limit is vastly larger, Shaders for the models and the textures of the models are now different, and the engine is the left for dead branch of engine.
Well didn't he already address on converting gmod for a newer version of an engine (l4d) just so we could have some extra content? I'd think the same goes for portal 2. I don't think garry wants to force people to pay more for gmod than they already do, it does some-what seem fairly ridiculous to expect them to buy hl2, css, tf2 and gmod just so their world isn't a mass of glowing red errors and purple and black squares.

It would be provided in a update. But Garry won't do it as it is a branch of the engine, he wanted to keep to the main engine if I recall a blog post correctly.
He tried adding portal 2 content to gmod, but lots of models crash the branch of the engine gmod is on. If you wanna try it out for yourself add -beta to the launch options and mount portal 2. But prepare for crash city.

The resources don't magically appear in gmod, and most people buy css so they can see whats in gmod. Having to do that with l4d/portal 2 would be a pretty big deal.
Add -beta to the command line. Open the Extensions menu. :q:
Well, people,Garrys mod will be upgraded to fit the portal 2,but sadly, that will happen after HL 2 EP 3 release, witch is few months,or more away.
