Those are exactly the kinds of expressions that people use to minge with.
That's my point: if they behave, that's OK but if they minge... open season. Fight fire with fire.
I fight minges with an anti-noclip cage, and the Asgard Transporter...
I built a massive hangar structure with gates and all that stuff, that I spawn to stay safe from the minges if they should appear. They always try to do shit to get inside :v:
There is going to be a wire 2. IF you do not like wire or E2 then don't use it (PERIOD) But E2 and wire did not ruin gmod. All it did was add more possibilities. And yes E2 can spawn holograms but there is a default size of 50 units and there are also console commands to disable or enable holograms. My point is that E2 added more possibilities and allows you to code in-game. Instead of having to make a script outside of gmod then import it in then see if it works. And wasting time. Also E2 is a great way of getting to learn simple scripting. If u don't like it dont use it.
try to learn e2 then try to say this stuff about it.i used to think the same thing untill i learnded it, now its the best thing to gmod.
E2 is wonderful, I use it for control systems because the numbpad doesn't feel natural to use when controlling something and it is a great improvement over E1 (I never understood it). I do however hold people that can make something GOOD without major wire assistance, a good example of this is Saber15's VTOLs the only wire used is a adv pod controller for activating the thrusters, all the balancing has to be done by the player in the seat which does make for some fail pilots but is ultimately more fun to just fly in than some applyforce() fighter. As for people just hateing on wiremod/phx: Think about it, how many people would still be playing gmod if all this wasn't made? If we still had a pure vanilla gmod? Things like Saber15's VTOLs wouldn't exist because we wouldn't have the weight tool or smartsnap! Gmod would die if we didn't have such addons. Nothing new or fresh would come and all the players would leave. Hell look at TF2 Valve brings players back with the class updates! Many have left and retured because of new weapons and maps and in gmod this is present but tenfold because of the community! I hope this changed some of your minds. :3:
so you can't just disable it. Go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong about anything.
Server admins can delete:
\garrysmod\addons\wire\lua\weapons\gmod_tool\stools\wire_expression2.lua
E2 is gone.
the only thing i dont like about it is the gay turrets that hover over peoples heads and just kill with turrets and i dont like just a flying e2 chip that rams into u on spawn and kills u. but it's only bad if minges use it + u dont have to use it.
I understand how you feel. And tbh, I don't have the slightest idea how to work E2 at all. I need tutorials or something.
.
I only use E2s with spacebuild stuff, but i've developed a fondess for it and expand into other things. I'm not a big contraptions builder, but i love bases, spaceships, that kinda stuff. E2's end up being things for me that reduce a million gates or chips down to a single chip in life support or security features. One of my more recent hobbies has been a "stargate computer/library/iris controller" chip that links up to a keyboard and screen and prevents anyone from using my gate except through teh keyboard so everything's logged. AS for other contraptions, well when it gets to thinks like pirate wars, i don't need chips and i dont really build anything else that needs gates at all. Then again, I'm one of maybe 3 people in my "ping range" (servers ranging from 50-300ms) that actually uses E2 on a regular basis, so I could be biased. That or Australian/New Zealanders dont use E2 online or at all.
I don't like darkRP. Ima go make a usless thread about how it ruined gmod -.-
to those guy saying people copie other players e2 might be right but most people copy off them to learn it themselves for example: me I copied some e2 off the internet but I typed it all out why? TO LEARN IT after I did that I began using the basic concept of it in my other custom e2 work people copy to LEARN things and if you say you havent copied 1 OR MORE e2 scripts are lying. E2 is the evolution of garysmod and wire everything evolves including us If you say that e2 helped the minges, it helped us. People say that wire helped the minges. GARRYSMOD CREATED THE BASTARDS. but it also helped us. I think e2 is one of the best things that has ever happened to garrysmod.
Learn it and you won't hate it, or join a server without it, or go cry in a corner.
Personally, I hate it when people have these E2's that everyone uses and just uses it over and over again. That's about it. Otherwise, if you are this pissy about it, learn it step by step and test things out and whatnot. :)
Learn it and you won't hate it, or join a server without it, or go cry in a corner.
is a false dichotomy with three things a false trichotomy? I personally made this statement true by doing all three at once.
Your thread ruined Facepunch.
Uhm. If you don't like E2 why do you have the newest wiremod or simply just don't use it? :v: I mean, I think it's pretty good (Even though I don't use wire much).
Your thread ruined Facepunch.
Check Mark for you!
In my opinion, Expression 2 made much of the "wire components" useless. Finally. Wire is the actual "server cancer" since it grows and grows and grows, adding "new stuff" as "advanced version" which basically does the same as the "normal"-versions instead of enhancing them. Look at the explosives: "Simple Explosive","Explosive Advanced" and a "Detonator" (Names not fully correct. Can't remember, but there are three sents doing the same: Exploding). All of them could have been done in ONE SENT. Since the expression gate 2 now combines so much functionalities, wire mostly became useless. But still, you can code your own stuff not using wire. It will be much less complex but much more "funny" in my eyes. So I can agree: The abilties wire and expression gave to GMod "destroyed" the old-school GModding. But at the same time, it introduced new cool abilities. Change happens!
On my server i have a friend (Angus) and he said "Poke Jezza", i looked down later and saw a dick plowing into me... it seems as though with the new e2 you can make shapes which aren't props so you can't do anything about it, in my opinion E2 is unbalanced, OP and takes the game itself out of the game.

What are you on about? [editline]01:22PM[/editline]
In my opinion, Expression 2 made much of the "wire components" useless. Finally.
Wait, an overpowered thing in a sandbox game? What are you on about?
You'd think it impossible x] But oh so true!...
You'd think it impossible x] But oh so true!...
You can't have an overpowered thing in a sandbox game, that's like having a car that's too fast in IRL racing.
You can't have an overpowered thing in a sandbox game, that's like having a car that's too fast in IRL racing.
Probably bad choice of words but do ya get what i mean?
Probably bad choice of words but do ya get what i mean?
I do, but it's not a very good reason. If you're annoyed by it, play on a server that has admins on.
I do, but it's not a very good reason. If you're annoyed by it, play on a server that has admins on.
Hehe i own the server so i'm not saying this for myself but for others.
Probably bad choice of words but do ya get what i mean?
Sort of but I don't see how anything can be overpowered in a sandbox game. The more possibilities something adds the better it is, doesn't make anything overpowered at all.
just being able to control something which isn't controllable or blockable, can go anywhere do anything just by giving it numbers :/ seems somehow unfair
just being able to control something which isn't controllable or blockable, can go anywhere do anything just by giving it numbers :/ seems somehow unfair
You obviously have no idea how E2 works, nor that there's console commands for complete control over 3D holograms:
wire_holograms_display_owners Displays a list of hologram owners wire_holograms_block_client Hide all holograms spawned by the specified player from the display_owners list. wire_holograms_unblock_client Un-hide/show all holograms spawned by the specified player on the display_owners list. wire_holograms_remove_all Removes all holograms on the map wire_holograms_block Input a name (or part of a name) to prevent a player from spawning holograms wire_holograms_unblock Input a name (or part of a name) to allow a player to spawn holograms again wire_holograms_block_id Input a SteamID to prevent a player from spawning holograms wire_holograms_unblock_id Input a SteamID to allow a player to spawn holograms again wire_holograms_max Defines the maximum number of hologams a player can have at once wire_holograms_size_max Defines the maximum size of holograms according to the holoScale function

Well in that case so are gamemodes like Fortwars, Noxious and Sassilization because you're not building cars out of fridges. The point of GMod is to do whatever the hell you want. Also Wiremod extends the physics sandbox by letting you create intelligent, automated contraptions. Even the E2 tank treads in the Contraptions forum still are part of the physics sandbox, because he's using the physics to manipulate them and make the tank treads hover by themselves. God, here we go again with the 'Wiremod ruined my GMod' shite. As I've said GMod is about doing what you want, if people are doing what they want then they're doing it right. E2 is actually rather interesting. It's like programming your own robot and gives you the entertainment of scripting. while making it piss easy and simple to do.
That's the whole reason I do GMod. I can make a semi-automated contraption that I could never do in real life. I love having that ability to do things that you can't in real life - if you want to make a giant walking drivable lizard, go for it. An F-16 with droppable, explodable JDAMs? Sure.
