E2 made me play gmod again.
You obviously have no idea how E2 works, nor that there's console commands for complete control over 3D holograms:
wire_holograms_display_owners Displays a list of hologram owners wire_holograms_block_client Hide all holograms spawned by the specified player from the display_owners list. wire_holograms_unblock_client Un-hide/show all holograms spawned by the specified player on the display_owners list. wire_holograms_remove_all Removes all holograms on the map wire_holograms_block Input a name (or part of a name) to prevent a player from spawning holograms wire_holograms_unblock Input a name (or part of a name) to allow a player to spawn holograms again wire_holograms_block_id Input a SteamID to prevent a player from spawning holograms wire_holograms_unblock_id Input a SteamID to allow a player to spawn holograms again wire_holograms_max Defines the maximum number of hologams a player can have at once wire_holograms_size_max Defines the maximum size of holograms according to the holoScale function

Why would you assume that? non physics object that can go anywhere, i've seen it O_O
Why would you assume that? non physics object that can go anywhere, i've seen it O_O
So? If you are bothered by them disable them on your client, or if it's your server, block them for that person. It's not difficult to understand.
So? If you are bothered by them disable them on your client, or if it's your server, block them for that person. It's not difficult to understand.
Blocking it for every person that joins is a chore, is there any way to disable holograms?
Blocking it for every person that joins is a chore, is there any way to disable holograms?
You could always delete holograms.lua in garrysmod\addons\wire\lua\entities\gmod_wire_expression2\core, but people would most likely bitch at you about it, and when you update wire it would be back.
just being able to control something which isn't controllable or blockable, can go anywhere do anything just by giving it numbers :/ seems somehow unfair
Not to me. If E2 is somehow 'overpowered' or 'unfair' then so is the Lua SENT system.
Guyz Guyz, Gmod is a Physics Sandbox, so, you can do here WHATEVER YOU WANT and HOW, you can use a motor for moving the wheels, or you can use a WHEEL tool to move and attack the wheels, it dont matter HOW you do it, gmod not is about HOW YOU DO IT , in gmod you must make FUNNY things, doing fun, and doing EVERYTHING you want, its not about just WIRE or EXPRESSIONS or HYDRAULICS or FIREWORKS, some thing is better do with thrusters and other basic tools and there are thing you never can make using thrusters and basic tool, so, be happy
You could always delete holograms.lua in garrysmod\addons\wire\lua\entities\gmod_wire_expression2\core, but people would most likely bitch at you about it, and when you update wire it would be back.
Blank and read-only the file. That should stop it from coming back. Don't just delete it.

That would make it so no one can make holograms.

E2 reminds me of BASIC programming, man that was the best. =)
Period? I think you mean fullstop. E2 hasn't ruined GMOD, as everyone has said before, people who use it have made GMOD annoying, E2 is another tool, learn to live with it.
Hey, GUYZ lets, talk LIKE this for THE entire thread, lets ALSO NOT use a single period AND instead, USE, COMMAS AM i doing IT, right and NO, expression 2, DID not ruin gmod
With replys like this We need a *High Five* button I like E2 I Just started it too
I just want to give my 2 cents in this conversation. I do not think E2 ruined Gmod. Infact, it allowed me to do things I could NEVER do normally. Though I think E2 is too powerful... Most people (mingers and all) make stupid things that they 'think' are impressive. Now I am all for people learning how it works, but when it's the same thing over and over? That's not being creative, that's just annoying! Now I am glad E2 came out, and a few people can make some pretty impressive things with them... But I don't like how people use it ingame. I don't blame E2 though, I blame the horrible people that think they can use it.
Mingebags are generally unintelligent people, so they won't even know how to use E2 in the first place. No, all those things are not totally useless, some E2 chips still need to take the output from a ranger or need a thruster, and can e2 chips spew bullets? didn't think so. Some e2 chips can be lone, but others need non-e2 wire tools.
Ah, E2, a tool for unbridled awesomeness in the hands of a skilled user, and for unimaginable crappery in the hands of a minge. Luckily I fall into the first category, so I'm an E2 lover. So you have a chip that can make your props hit me in the face? I raise you one ORBITAL DOOM LASER!

That's the thing about Wire. The text screen cycler I made to test E2, that cycles a text screen between 'you' 'love' and 'cocks' isn't very fun or impressive. But it's the building process that's also entertaining when building in GMod, not just the finished product. It's rather fun though to try and write an AI for some task, like picking up a box with the arms on the contraption, then watching it ignore your intention and fly away randomly.
1.E2 replaces 1000 gates, and 1000 gates took a lot of memory, now I can enjoy complex stuff, with less lag 2.E2 helps people who use physics.I mean when I dupe some thing, some noob is then going to steal it and upload in on Garrysmod.org,but not with an E2 cleverly hidden some where in it... The only down for me is that now, noobs call me a noob. When noobs see 50 gates and a lot of wires, they are mpressed,no matter that they just make a small plate fail to follow and kill them, but when they see 1 E2,they call me a noob,no matter that that E2 is controlling they fate. Edit: 3.E2 got me to learn Lua
mean when I dupe some thing, some noob is then going to steal it and upload in on Garrysmod.org,but not with an E2 cleverly hidden some where in it...
thanks. I had forgotten about that wonderful feature of E2. :3:
I don't know how to script it, but honestly, I don't give a crap about people using it. Why? Because, it's their life! Let them handle it the way the want to. I just build my vroomvroom cars and other shit for the fun :D
First it was Wiremod that ruined GMod, and now it was E2 that ruined GMod. If anything, it's just a new way of doing things. Although BBOOBBYY! throws a temper tantrum whenever someone posts something that uses Applyforce in the Contraptions section.

Which makes his previous stubborn attitude even more FFFFFFFFFFFFF worthy
Hmm, what next? GMOD HAS RUINED GMOD -.- Seriously! That is probably what's coming next.
Hmm, what next? GMOD HAS RUINED GMOD -.- Seriously! That is probably what's coming next.
I think "Gmod has ruined Gmod" has gone a bit too far. More realistically, I'd say "Mingebags ruined Gmod".
I think "Gmod has ruined Gmod" has gone a bit too far. More realistically, I'd say "Mingebags ruined Gmod".
We've already had someone claim it was US that ruined Garrysmod so no, Garrysmod ruining Garrysmod isn't too much further away.
Simply put, Wire and E2s have given everyone a means to expand on their creativity and to push the source engine to it's limits. Gmod is a physics sandbox and so you expect to be able to toy with physics, to make amazing contraptions. It's much easier to make things now than it was when Gmod first came out to the public. There are so many more opportunities. Anyone who thinks wiremod ruins Gmod can just not use it and let those who like it use it. It's like saying the invention of the lighter ruins life because it's easier and less creative to start a fire. If it makes it easier then it's more practical and is more available for everyone else.
E2 has a very good security measure in the fact that mingebags are too dumb to use it. The only danger comes when someone posts a propkill script on the internet :ohdear: .
I can't really see any way it would ruin GMod. Minges won't do anything worse than they already did. Also, stop being so traditional, a change isn't bad >:O
I use E2 to cut down on lag, and for precision in my physics contraptions. If it's staying stationary though, i love the look of a bajillion gates everywhere
"ZOMG E2 RUIND GMOOD!!!!! ROFLOLMAO!!!" Seriously people. SHUT THE FUCK UP! If anyone ruined gmod, it's the dumbfucks that don't like the user generated content that has made gmod so great. The main underlying concept of gmod is that the users can play the game however thay want, adding in features that they couldn't previously do.
