Honestly this looks like an issue on steam's end. We just gotta wait for steam to sort itself out now i guess.

It's probably because Steam is having some maintenance, they probably pulled the auth servers down for a couple of minutes and Steam cried foul. Wait about a quarter of an hour, restart steam, and try again.
Broken for me also. Cannot enter Game and I purchased when Gmod 10 was released. "unable to shade normal polygon models", cannot validate etc. Nice. Any ETA?
Just happened to me too, I was playing an RP server all of a sudden "This steam account doesn't own this game", and I got the polygon error too, and I legitly own it. . .

personal experience , been playing gmod for years and every time some big gamewide bug/crash occured it took at least a few hours to fix... and worse yet , steam take EVEN LONGER to fix their bugs.
