I've been trying to write a script for a play, but in my heart of hearts, I know it will be never as good as this thread.
Yeah the good old days of devnull
Yeah! When only a few people had it, and it was limited to SeriousRP servers lol.
I agree. If anything should be done, legally, Mark Clark should be arrested for his perverted interactions with minors. Stay away from Hellzone. It is the shittiest clan I've ever been a part of. In fact, I'm ashamed to say that I've ever even been involved with it at all.
Pulse Are Effect RP
Apparently Killslick just got DMCA'd x_x someone finally fought back i guess
Man, people hated me back when and I was the absolute devil to everyone from PE. At least I believed in competition lol. I kinda wonder what my "legality" would have been since I had been hosting it for years before Hellzone even existed let alone hosted or bought PERP. These days everything is open game and the respect for anything is absolute zero. This is apparently what the community wants though, if people wanted better communities and servers people would make them and people would play them. When I closed up shop at the very end of 2010 I didn't see the community getting any better and the same DarkRP minorly updated from 2008 is what everyone uses with hundreds of dollars of coderhire shit plastered over it. The Garry's Mod community turned into a cancerous self-mutilating money grab of legally grey area antics and bulling. I honestly couldn't be happier with ending my community somewhere in what was basically the end of a different time.
Apparently Killslick just got DMCA'd x_x someone finally fought back i guess
Servernapped? I can't express how funny this is.
If you saw the logs between HZ's Major Pain and Carpet, you'd know why he said "ransom" Either way, HZ's PERP is back up because of false DMCA.
This reminds of all the XS and PE shit and it's funny to think people take a shitty role playing gamemode so seriously that they take legal action. I'm glad I checked this thread though it was a good laugh.
If you saw the logs between HZ's Major Pain and Carpet, you'd know why he said "ransom" Either way, HZ's PERP is back up because of false DMCA.
Why can't things just die... :suicide:
People take this game so seriously and when you decide to take it seriously they say: "It's just game, don't take it so seriously!" There isn't anything special about PERP, it's a old shitty gamemode which as others have said needs to die.
Honestly, although Killslick does own perp. Denial of service attacks is just stupid, I think we're all stupid. It's a constant battle for a gamemode that is infact such a shitty gamemode. Killslick is ddossing servers that host his gamemode, and servers are willing to get ddos'd to host his gamemode. I feel as if life would be so much easier if Killslick learnt that perp is a boring gamemode, there's 50 different versions of it flying around the internet and there's going to be -somebody- wanting to host it. If he spent as much time and money on a new gamemode than he did with ddos services, tools and dmca claims we'd have no issues. #stophostingperpitsbadanyway

PERP is old, not a public gamemode, yet every ~moderately sized~ community wants to host it because their players want it. Even if someone else made a roleplay gamemode LIKE PERP, they would not get any players because people only like it because it's PERP. Other gamemodes that have the same kind of features are just called "a copy" or "shit"...
This thread was certainly a journey. Not necessarily a good or enlightening journey, but a journey still.
Just blare that for a few seconds, because that's the entire situation regarding PERP. It is just a bunch of antisocial lunatics piping their attitudes under the basis of some "legal just" even though their activities are at best shaky in the legal world, and it's a masterful piss-off to anyone who just wants to have fun in Garry's Mod these days.
It would seem you guys claim Kills DDoSes PERP servers, but yet provide no proof, therefore I wouldn't believe you. A lot of lies are spread about Kills by people who hate on him for the "DMCA" thing.
So let me get this straight: Someone sets up a PERP server, and because they have their own machine, they can do whatever they want with it. Now suddenly, Killslick or whatever comes along and sees this server running PERP, and goes on a power trip and starts throwing DMCA's left and right. Well the people say, "Yeah, get fucked" and because its their own machine, they do not need to pull it down. Now this server get's DDoSed, and Killslick sends another DMCA. HM! I WONDER WHO THAT COULD BE. Seriously, 2+2 =/= Fish, stop being blind.
You still have yet to provide proof of such, so I still refuse to believe you. I will not continue arguing however since this is a very fragile topic. Plus, it wouldn't be worth it to argue with someone who still can't give us proof. If you really want to run a gamemode and fragile and broken as PERP, I mean go ahead, but I won't be sitting here doing anything about it. Most of the claims made against Killslick are untrue and just because you "Heard" he's a DDoSer doesn't mean he is. Infact, I'm willing to believe the opposite to the people who claim he DDoSes. PERP is old, its broken, and you really need to give it up. Go make your own gamemode, it's worth it and better to do. I won't sit here and lie to you, and the only things I say are what I personally believe; you do not have to argue and you can always ignore my comments. If you have a problem, remember this is a forum and a video game, and the fact is he owns copyright and you don't. This is all I will say Joe. PS: http://puu.sh/9O5If/82d4603bac.jpg
Killslick is even DMCA'ing servers that are password protected not open to public not running PERP at all. lol its pathetic.
PS: http://puu.sh/9O5If/82d4603bac.jpg
Im sorry but is anyone supposed to take that serious?
Who is Mark Clark
Im sorry but is anyone supposed to take that serious?
Take it what you would like to take it, I don't honestly care. Not here to argue anymore.
Who is Mark Clark
Killslick.
One problem with that letter of registration: In the case that you do not fully write your name correctly(capitals in first and last name), they'll do it for you. Same goes for any mishaps regarding your address... :v: And before anyone goes off on me saying that's not true, it's the case for things like 4473s, and invention patents, both of which I have had time in. If you so much as spell your name incorrectly, they are obliged to fix it and change it. Edit: Also... where's the stamp?
I think you're right. I don't think you can copyright a mod to a game unless it is released as it's own game, for example, Garry's Mod. And what the hell even is PERP anyway? It's got RP in the name, it is just DarkRP?

There's been several different versions with different owners, but the whole thing is held together by horribly inefficient code, errors, and lag.
I think it's time Chessnut... Liberate us of this oppressive dmca ddoser. Bring us the smell of fresh roses and rid the smell of do do. Give us the good stuff Chessnut. Rewrite PERP on NutScript Today!!!
PERP was made in late 2008, at least the first version of it. I remember how odd the feeling was regarding it at the time. Most people were aware of it being the same as DarkRP, but that crafting system gave some hope of something new. It is really weird looking back on it.
