Lawyers would have a field day ripping this bit apart to tiny pieces:
Description of Work: A computer gamemod script, Game called PERP writen for PulsarEffect , Pulsareffect.com been up runing beta since 2008. Core sourcecode will remain hidden dues to being leaked over past years.
Between the horrible grammar, spelling, and vagueness of it, this would be thrown out in a heartbeat. So even though he has a "copyright", to what is the question that will be asked and this does not give an answer.....
But who leaked PERP in the first place, that is the question
But who leaked PERP in the first place, that is the question
Pissed off developers. Pulsar Effect was notorious for stepping on the shoes of people they hired by trying to undercut them mid-project.
But who leaked PERP in the first place, that is the question
1.0 was supposedly someone who broke into their SVN, this version was broken and from their "beta".
1.5 was either CaM or Stan but I know CaM who Blackfur supposedly had hired to remove Stan from their box after hunts went off to military school gave it to me.
2.0 was probably because their box was rooted or something retarded.
Everything after that had nothing to do with hunts as after the second reincarnation of Pulsar Effect, Venom bought them up and took over into Pheonix Dawn and Voltage Gaming then back to Pulsar Effect which would have been the 8th reincarnation of the community including the unofficial ones. So everything after that is really just disgruntled coders/owners and people who have access to their server. So really since Stan was completely allowed by Blackfur to have free reign of their server because he was spineless. Every leak that people use was pretty much acquired legally and all completely pre-date killslick even running PERP.
Now since killslick has reincarnated it they are literally on at least the 9 or 10th time of being reincarnated which now is something which literally resembles absolutely nothing of the original Pulsar Effect at all.
The amount of misinformation in the Gmod community surrounding the creation of something let alone even the understanding of what something is in general is absolutely astounding. PERP has literally 0 in common with DarkRP, it was made in Gmod 11 if you want to call it that and it's far as hell from "back in the day" since it wasn't even popular or really working until well into 2009 before it shortly later died.
After it died it ended up in my hands which prompted hunts to rush PERP2 which was on their public server in the beginning of 2010 but didn't actually even work until April or so since hunts went back to military school and disappeared. The only real reincarnation of Pulsar Effect was merged into Pheonix Dawn because they most likely went bust and Venom bought them up by summer 2010. That was reincarnated into Voltage Gaming by 2011 and was revived once or twice I think because I really lost track of them after that since they weren't even relevant anymore.

I wouldn't call it misinformation, but rather, malinformaty. Just because people do not know something doesn't mean they'll lie about it; the situation in debate had nothing to do with the old PERP, but rather what Killslick is doing now with the original PERP. It's nice to know it and see how... storied PERP is, but the fact remains that the gamemode and community has a history -- now explained, of instability, volatility, and drama.
Man, people hated me back when and I was the absolute devil to everyone from PE. At least I believed in competition lol. I kinda wonder what my "legality" would have been since I had been hosting it for years before Hellzone even existed let alone hosted or bought PERP.
These days everything is open game and the respect for anything is absolute zero.
This is apparently what the community wants though, if people wanted better communities and servers people would make them and people would play them. When I closed up shop at the very end of 2010 I didn't see the community getting any better and the same DarkRP minorly updated from 2008 is what everyone uses with hundreds of dollars of coderhire shit plastered over it.
The Garry's Mod community turned into a cancerous self-mutilating money grab of legally grey area antics and bulling. I honestly couldn't be happier with ending my community somewhere in what was basically the end of a different time.
As the 3rd owner of Hellzone (Killslick is the 5th). I can confirm that the bolded statement is gravely mistaken. Hellzone is 15 years old this year.
Can't believe I created an account just to say that. I suppose I'm clinging on to old memories of a clan that *was* quite decent.

Bold it, underline it, make it flash in red.
Killslick is a perfect example of everything a good server owner should not be.

From what I can tell, just by curious google searching, the whole clan itself has taken a whole new direction; I don't even recognize it anymore. A friend of mine got an email a while back about HZ asking for money to help him move. This kind of sparks my curiosity about what kind of stuff they've gotten themselves into. From what I can see, their internet footprint is absolutely atrocious. If I had a time machine, I can honestly say I would beat the holy hell out of my past self for letting the clan go.

If you think what you have read over google are correct think again.
The info was spread by a group of people which is evident here.
Very much made up from people who have been proven to be trolls , DDoSers and just all around nasty people.
This was all because they became very butt hurt.
Facts that I hear will in fact see the light of a court room soon.
They tried to get me involved in faking bad info about killslick and telling lies of him .
I then saw the real truth and I now am on his side, BTW we have a group of our own to help him.
Many here in this thread are involved in the lies.
The credibility of many of you all is crap and you all know it....
Here is a note left to me by not just one but a few of these same people.
Hey we are trying to get people to hate HZ and stop playing on the servers.
This is not exact but close to what was said.
"Can you please DDoS the other servers and we will make it look like him."
Also from what I hear at least one of you have had a community or server taken down by one or more users all known as Dannex and Colby and spread lots of lies and involved in DDoS of said servers.
Some are afraid to speak the truth about this.
I for one am not afraid of you all and you know very well this is the truth.
I will not post again on this thread.........
If a community has been around for 15 years old just like stated somewhere above, shouldn't they be able to just ignore all this bullshit and continue living on? If the community has people in it and teh servers are populated why care about people complaining and bitching? Let them, it's not like it's going to make you do your job worse. Everyone who becomes big will get competition and there are always jealous people who try to ruin it for you. You can't help it and giving the problem more attention is only making it worse.
Close the thread, forget and quit the drama, the people starting the shit want people to pay attention to it and the more attention paid to it the more fun it is.
"Facts that I hear will in fact see the light of a court room soon."
lol
I honestly have no words outside of the fact that it might be advisable for killslick to watch his back. If people are out to get him, as your post would incline, something akin to a courtroom case is just going to stir more angry-folk, and with the fact he willingly handed out his home address on the internet, it really is just a matter of someone's shoes getting pissed on enough before they go at him with whatever they please.

That is just sad.
So HZ is getting ddos'd still? That clan has been the victim of ddoss since long before I even took over. Nothing new. I used to ddos other servers in retaliation. I see nothing has changed there. Such is the nature of the source engine gaming world. We were pretty brutal to other clans that messed with us. You're making ddos'ing sound like its something new and horrible.
As for Killslick, we never saw eye to eye anyway. There are times when I liked the guy and others where I genuinely despised his very existence. I can't really comment on him other than I disapprove of the clan direction and the reputation its gotten.

I think he was meaning HellZone's impact into Garrysmod.
Personally I think they should of just stuck with CSS. But ofcourse there was no money to be made there
Well I had never heard of Hellzone up until well after PE was gone. I do believe they ran a DarkRP server or something but either way my PERP servers predated Hellzone's PERP servers by 1-2 years at least. I started up ExiledServers in early 2008(Zombie Outbreak) and ended it at the very close of 2011. Unless I was completely oblivious to it, I don't remember Hellzone being even relevant in the Gmod community until 2011.
Clans are self destructive shitholes, they exist and thrive purely on elitism and circlejerks over power. I would never allow anything I created to succumb to a fate similar to what nearly every of the older communities like Sassilization, Darkland, Pulsar Effect or even Hellzone.
I regretfully was a part of a clan when I started hosting servers and even ran a server for them. My "section" of the clan dedicated purely to my server became something which the other section didn't like and tensions grew until something happened and some people important to me were removed without my involvement or opinion. I decided to take them all with me and kill off the only expanding and productive server. They had only decided to start letting me have any sort of "power" when they felt the need that they should manipulate me into following them. Hilariously, I wasn't even interested as all I cared about was running my server and playing with people who I had become friends with.
We were all labeled as hackers, "4channers" and a bunch of other retarded shit and were perpetually blamed for everything. Part of the reason I chose ExiledServers for a name was simply because it just fit so damn well for everything we wanted to be. That clan died shortly after but was kept on life support and brainwashing for years beyond it hosted anything with a player count. My goal from there on was to try to create a place where I wanted to play and wasn't ran by a staff of misinformation feeding worthless shits.
Pulsar Effect attracted my attention as being a good community but soon after I started involving myself in it, the same horrible things started to appear that I hated. It was then left in BlackFur's care and spiraled out of control with a mess of the same horrible things in an attempt to desperately call a witch hunt to unite a displaced community. All of this was simply because I ran their Gmod Racer gamemode which was horribly neglected for years while their community was down for 5 months. Hell, I revived my community after Zombie Outbreak wound down to purely host this gamemode and it started out on my home server just as a place to play something I enjoyed. Instead, our name totally fit us once again and only propelled me to fix someone's PERP server and then absorb it.

Anything that is a clan should really just go die in a hole and burn to the ground. The absolute poster child for everything wrong with them is simply Hellzone.

PE's downfall had a lot to do with BlackFur's inability to run the community by himself, but it's not the sole reason. There was nobody there to maintain anything without Hunts. TF2TD died because of it, Gmod Racer died because of it, and when they tried to save it by getting outside help, PERP died. You can't have a community running custom scripts with no developer. Also, PERP 2.0 is not a better gamemode than the original. It was, and will always be, what started the decline of PE.
But ultimately, it doesn't matter. PERP is dead because nobody truly understood what made it work so well and what made it so popular. If you go into any PERP server nowadays, it's all extra this or extra that, the same rules list but with 20 pages of new rules added to it, and all kinds of other crap.
The original PERP worked so well because it was basic. It was vanilla. You were either a cop, firefighter, medic, mayor, criminal, or a citizen. It was open and free. I'm sure you remember The Greasers V.S. Exiled Ones wars on Lite. Hours upon hours of 2 gangs trying to snipe each other, one on top of the car dealer, the other at the radio station. Dieing and being called back to the fight. It was fun. There wasn't all of these extra rules or other fancy things in the game.
And that's why Hellzone and every other community/clan who aspires to be the next PE is going to fail using PERP. Nobody knows how to get out of the way and let the players play. The gamemode has already been made to discourage player interaction with all of the extras, and applying extra rules and scrutiny kills what's left of it.
But cheer up. DarkRP will always be strong.....

This exactly is why I have stepped further and further away from any clan scene. With what you said, I'd like to further elaborate from my experience.
I'm not going to point out Hellzone specifically for this; however, every. single. group. suffers from this disease that is power. From the moment they get server admin, to forum admin, to teamspeak admin, to supreme-god-admin-over-all-things-admin, the worst in people seem to surface. When you get right down to it you're sitting in a chair playing a video game; however, you're immersed in a fictional world whilst sitting on an imaginary throne of Zeus, and if nobody follows your exact ten, or five thousand and ten, commandments (or if you don't like them) you will smite them out of your world and condemn them to a hell that is the world outside your server. The mentality that clan leadership will bring out in people is astoundingly horrendous.
What's downright scary is the cult like attitudes that follow from new member prospects wanting to carve a little bit of that power for themselves. For example: The clan leader states that potato chips are the greatest thing ever, if you disagree and say popcorn is the greatest, you risk alienating yourself from the clan eventually leading to your removal and banning (read: hell). Sounds ludicrous right? happens. This cult attitude clans create, ultimately, reduces the importance of REAL friends and family. When you're in a clan as a kid or teenager, you step from a world of important classroom and parental teaching and guidance to a world of only voices on the other end of a mic; their only credibility and power over you rests in the promise of granting you some of that power. I have even seen kids as young as 12 develop and mold political views to specifically to look good in the eyes of a clan leader. I have also seen kids outright skip school to increase their own participation in the clan - again for power. These cults and false-careers are legitimately a bane on society. I'm afraid this whole "Roleplay" extends far beyond Garrys mod itself. I was speaking to someone earlier about clans and his exact words were: " *** should be on the FBI watchlist for cults. Seriously." At first I thought it was a humorous jibe, but the more I think about it the more it seems like a realistic suggestion.
Now for the record I have been a victim of this lust of power in my younger days; however I am pleased to have grown out of it. What really gets to me is when I look on those days, when I was a hormonal teenage clan leader, I cant say I'm very proud of myself. Sure, Hellzone was awesome. Sure it won many scrims and a few competitions. I raged and attacked other clans and leaders over ridiculous things and drama that ALL happened in (or about) a video game. You guys have been speaking of Ddos, back in my hayday of clan stuff, a Ddos attack was a good day compared to what else could be done. Once I had my website changed to display my face photoshopped on a guy engaged in homosexual activities with another clan member. That was the day I re-discovered cigarettes. At 30 years old now, saying I was a server owner, clan admin, grand super duper GENERAL OF THE ARMY badass of all time, is not exactly something I'm going to put on a resume. Hell, I wouldn't even bring it up over a meal at McDonalds. From what I can tell, these kids in Hellzone and many other clans, people in this forum, like I did, are one day going to finish puberty, the hormones are going to settle down, and the importance of whatever this PERP license is and how Killslick conducts himself - HIS life and property, the clan stuff, is going to seem very minuscule. Most will probably look back with self disgust. What Killslick does should be of very little consequence to everyone but Killslick and his family - notice I left out Hellzone.
With that being said: I do care what happens to Hellzone, otherwise I wouldn't have made myself present in this thread. I see it as (sort of) a continuation of the fruits of my labor and I wish it all the best... and hope it stops taking itself too seriously. The importance of Hellzone, though, in the grand scheme of things - even to Killslick himself or this forum - should be absolutely minuscule. It's a gaming club. It's not the next senate, President, King, Emperor or Secretary of the United Nations. It doesn't have a wikipedia article so its not that big of a deal. Old ladies have book clubs and knitting clubs, young guys have gaming clans. Admittedly, I have no idea what this whole PERP debacle is about; however, it sounds like a bunch of stupidity from what I've read. A copyrighted gamemode on a copyrighted mod on a copyrighted game engine sold on a copyrighted platform by a registered trademarked company. It's a whole issue I don't intend to touch on purely because I know nothing about it.
To the person who started this thread: There's really more to the world than Hellzone, believe me. Getting back at Killslick will net nothing in return to you. You'll look back (if you haven't already) and think how stupid you are for even worrying about it. I think I went in an HZ server once after I left them, I dislik

you should find out who posted the spray so we can see why they did it or MAYBE it was killslick scouting the game to see if it's ready for him to pray on some new kids >:D
That came out a bit too wrong but eh,
I keep looking at the picture and I can't stop imaging him praying on the Gmod community like the gmod community is mostly made of kids so really due to how old he is he could honestly know the right buttons to push to have his own "Cotton fields"

I've seen that spray numerous times, But the people who sprayed it had no idea what it was. It just seemed to replace their own spray at random.

I think I went in an HZ server once after I left them, I disliked the admins, sipped my coffee and left. Video games, and to extent, Hellzone, are all part of the Entertainment industry; If it's not entertaining, if its causing stress, if it's causing you any negative emotional reaction whatsoever, it's time to find another provider of that entertainment. Gaming should make you happy, not angry.
Well that was longer than I intended. Just my 2c though.
That was really well said, and I for one totally agree. G-mod is turning into something that we as gamers are getting way to worked up about. I used to be the same way thinking being a owner of a server was a godsend idea. Well now that I am older I can honestly give less of a fuck. G-mod is something you should not log on to gain power, it should be something to be incredibly fun to come and play with friends. Not to be abused by buying scripts and banning all who appose you.
I doubt he pays taxes on those donations. Report him to the government in his country, he's got an income which probably isn't taxed.
The biggest and most important point you mad in this was that everyone takes this WAY too seriously. It's hurting the gmod community and a MAJOR reason gmod is dying. when you start taking all of this THAT seriously, you start driving away what makes this game and community of players great.
Hello there, Just saying I am an Ex-HZ member and im posting this because this is proof of killslicks corruption we never wanted to truly come to it but it cant be hidden he says everyone who left is corrupt but heres is real proof of him shit talking and accusing people that left of DDOSing him and saying he has proof even tho people saying something from there mouth and a chat log of someone saying there going to do it IS NOT PROOF THAT THEY ACUTALLY DID IT!

http://www.mediafire.com/listen/wls96x3uk3s678v/XSplit_2014_07_15_01_10_07_84.mp3 - video of him saying that Jaxon and Hammer were DDOSing and that he had proof, then in the screenshots above he says "The Divine" is DDOSing HZ, its just so sad that he cant just come to his crippled ass mind and just come to his senses that hes corrupt and hes a pedo, he watches kids on tinychat rub themselves and laughs about it and doesnt tell them to stop or kick them out, even one of the kids that he watches on tinychat all the time has Server Admin in his backup server, so here you guys go too whoever hates killslick enjoy this, ill get the tinychat stuff when i can.
Now that is some fucked up shit. If the thing about tinychat is true, please gather up proof so we can bust the fucking pedophile.
