What's the simplest thing you didn't know how to do in GMod?

This reminds me of the first time i ever played gmod. i remember it like it was yesterday. There was actually a bunch of things i didnt know, so heres the story.

So i started up a map on construct, and looked around. A big grin grew on my face. A world where i am left to explore the possibilities, a world wher- Wait, what was the the menu button key? *looks at tutorial* Oh okay.

I decided to go to the small island in the lake and spawn some people. Sadly, they appeared to be dead. "Oh well" I thought, and i started to move them around with the physgun. At the time, i had NO idea how to freeze objects, so i would pick one of the ragdolls up, Do a crappy voice over, then drop it on the ground, making some sort of skit. Oh god was this fun. Then, the moment of truth. I noted tabs on top of the spawn menu, so i clicked the one that said "NPCS". I was greeted with picture of HL2 characters. I figured this would spawn a poster or something. "What the hell is the point of spawning a poster?" I asked myself. I clicked one out of curiosity. Then gman appeared in front of me and i shot him in the face.

As for the other stuff, i found out about shift+e Really early on actually. most of the physgun mechanics i figured out easily. Execpt for throwing objects with it, that was last year.

I just learned today in THIS THREAD that multiple welds =/= stronger weld.

I just used rigid ropes and nails until someone told me about the weld tool

i remember not knowing how to pick anything up,freeze it and so i ended up using winches to stick things to the wall because a winch sounded interesting.

of course, i used the numbers above the qwerty keys, not the ones on the right of the keyboard.

after hours i made a floating ragdoll.

how to freeze objects...I spent 2 weeks welding everything to the ground.I was like"how the hell do you people weld inthe sky?!".In fact just 2 months ago I learned how to unfreeze ragdolls by the press of a button....

I couldn't figure out for the longest time how to rotate pieces in place, I spent hours running in circles, no clipping, stacking (I was WAY better at stacking and duplicating before I was any decent at placement).

I didn't know how to get to the spawn screen.
I remember me and my friend playing and he keep spawning weapons and stuff.
I was like, "How the fuck do you keep having weapons pop up in front of you!?"
Friend-"Oh, the spawn menu."
Me-"..."
F-"..."
M-"what the fuck is that?"
F-"Oh, it's this menu where you can get [U][B]anything[/B][/U]."
M-"K, would u mine telling me how to get to it?"
F-"get to what?"
M-"...never mind."

I finally figured out that when you start the game it tells you.
Course that was like 5 days later.

I Never knew for years that CTRL + Use When moving a prop straightens it out!!
So many wasted Hours trying to get straight Walls... Epic fail!
...Or is it Shift + Use?...

I thought gmod was a cheat trainer for hl2. I also found gravity disable quite late in my early days of gmod.

Me too lol... It took me about a year at least to figure that out and I've played GMod for about four almost.
