What's the simplest thing you didn't know how to do in GMod? - Garry's Mod

It's suprising how Garry never mentioned SHIFT+E in any of the tooltips. My two cents... I thought something had to be in contact with something else to be welded, so i used nails for the longest time. ^-^.

Didn't know how to change wheel direction or snap things with the physgun.

I didn't know how to shift-E props I didnt know how to noclip I didnt know how to install addons, I used to just shove them in every single folder in garrysmod until it worked When I first for GMOD I was using a trackball so I didnt know you could scroll props in towards you, I used to throw them up in the air and then catch them, I actually got really good at it.

Tried Weld-Easy for the first time thinking it would be more useful than just Weld, saw it move my shit around, never used and Weld tool for like 6 months. When I did start using it again I thought stuff had to be very very close to weld, so to attach a camera to a car I had a long trail of soda cans with a wobbly as heck camera on the end

Let's see... SHIFT+E until months later... The simple concepts of Wire... Making a house, and even today I have trouble making a decent looking house even with Stacker and Shift+E. Yeah, I suck... [B]Welding things.[/B] I'm serious.

Didn't know how to change my default name, when you could change your name via options tab. The default name was "Mingebag" and people would ban me for no apparent reason. I use to think Mingebag was slang for Midget, :saddowns: but I am tall, so they could never break my spirit :razz:

I didn't know how to remove things that I had spawned, I kept sweeping them into the pond on gm_construct until someone finally told me about the Remover tool, and how to Undo as well.

Well... It must have been when i was about to call steam support (I'm Serious) cause i couldn't collide with ropes or weld things to the rope, i thought the engine was broken. Also when i thought that LUA was a Hack.

I thought you couldnt change your in game name

thought gravgun was physgun and had to position my props just right so i can weld them in place.

Can't do anything besides spawning something

When I first got the game I tried opening the spawn menu, and spawned a couple of ragdolls thinking that they were NPCs.

I opened up the CS:S folder and spawned some guns so I could pick them up. I didn't know the weapons tab existed until a couple of days later.

Took me a long time, But i finally figured out the numbers to use stuff like thrusters were on the numpad. Not the keyboard.

I didn't knew how to install addons.I used to enter random servers to download stuff.

I knew how to spawn stuff, but not how to remove them. I spent my first quarter of an hour in GMod being chased by zombies.

The most trouble I ever had was learning what the gates in wiremod do. Now that I'm an electrical engineer I know all about them and how to make latches from scratch and other complex circuits. Having kinda learned what the gates do in Gmod actually helped in my electrical devices classes, though.

The only thing i could do was throw ragdolls to the other side of gm_flatgrass XD

I never really had any issues, except I kept screwing up my gmod and having to reinstall was a pain
