What's the simplest thing you didn't know how to do in GMod? - Garry's Mod

Not knowing how to weld at all. I thought that whatever you build can never ever move from its starting position and all you can ever do is build stationary objects. A week later after I figured that out, I didn't know that you had to reverse two of the wheels on a car for it to work properly. :D

First server I joined... "How do I fly?" Everyone thought I was trolling. "No really, I'm new, I just bought the game today..." Then I was banned for the reason "Troll" :saddowns: Though that was over a year ago.

In my first gmod construction, like years ago, i welded prop wheels on a couch and expected that it would be a working driving sofa. I reinstalled Gmod about [B]3 times[/B] till i discovered the wheel tool

Using E to change props/ragdolls position, "HOW DO U PUT CONSOLE?". Those were the major problems. Just smashing ragdoll/prop to wall always.

When I first got it, I thought it was like the sims, and I asking my friends how to build walls and stuff.

That you could move props back and forth with the mouse wheel instead of E + Forward/Back And i still dont have a mouse wheel :ohdear:

How to rotate objects. If I knocked it over, I just respawned it and tried again. [editline]1[/editline] I recently discovered that holding down E on smart snap locks it to the grid. I never knew that.

First server i joined as a TTT server and the first thing i did was shoot a random guy in the face.. got banned for RDM'ing.. Funny thing he was a traitor :3

I didn't know you could spawn additional weapon ammo by right clicking on the weapons. One day I did it, and I literally said out loud, "Holy shit." Let's just say I spammed the shit out of the weapons after I learned how.

I just learned about shift+e a week ago, and i learned that you could givecurrentammo in the console yesterday... i have played garrys mod for over 450 hours and how come i have never came across this.

I've played for over 600 hours. Also, in the first hours or so of playing, I had NO IDEA how to rotate while holding something with the physgun. So I would just fling it at a wall and hope for the best.

I uh...Well...I didn't know what the "Reload" key was until about a year after I got the game.

i didn't know for about 6 months that you had to buy counter strike to get it's weapons so every server i got onto i asked HOW DO I FIX MY GMOD TO GET REAL GUNS?

The fact that you could unweld something by selecting a Weld Tool, pointing at a prop, and hitting R. Until I found that out, I used to go through my Undo menu to find the wrong weld, and undo it. Much panic was had.

accidentally changed what the "z" button did and couldn't undo anything. i still can't actually. any help?

When i just downloaded gmod, I had no idea how to START it Then i didnt know how to start a map Then on a server, someone asked me to open the console and i replied"i dont want to take apart my wii"

I didn't know how to noclip, snap props, ect.

I didn't know how to weld.:suicide:

I think pretty much everyone was surprised when they found out about Shift-E.

I Remember that i only knew how to spawn emiterrs :DD

For the first few days of having GMod I never knew how to weld properly, I always thought that you had to go over the edge of the prop you were welding, (as if you were really welding something) I can remember particularly having a ring transporter panel and trying to weld it onto a table by going all aroung the edge!! EDIT: oh and also failing to freeze something, for some reason i couldn't get the hang of pressing my secondary mouse button at the same time

Shift+E was the most glorious moment of my entire life. No more shoving props into corners to straighten them out.

I always had a break value on my welds for some reason, and I never knew why my props would blow apart after a while

2 years playing Garry's Mod without knowing E would rotate props while using the physgun. I remember almost all my fails at trying to make a tower without knowing the ability to rotate props. I used walls to rotate them. Yep, I was so stupid I never read the tips Garry's Mod gives you when you start a game in gm_construct.

How do I get rid of these "error" things?!
