• Old Age - Official Gamemode Thread!

Alright, I have made a scoreboard and to make it abit more cooler, I made it only load players within the region you are currently in. This means that other players may only see the players in the same region as his. [IMG]http://i50.tinypic.com/2n82af7.jpg[/IMG] Meanwhile, I did the following: - Finished loots. - More items! From Reaper. - Optimized the scripts and inventory. - Preparing functions for Player Owned Wagons (Because of MrCleans massivly huge and awesome landscape map) - Altered the MySQL table. Just for the admins and clients to save the accounts more efficiently. PS: Yes, I'm still working on the scoreboard. >_>
Looking great maw, making me more and more hyped.
The title "Old Age" in the scoreboard looks too stretched. Rest is looking nice good work Maw.

Nice job. Also, add more trees and a Z- clipping plane so players don't load the entire map at once.
I agree it really needs a lot more variety and density. It is showing progress though so good work. :buddy: My only remaining criticism is that the texturing (which I assume is WIP) is extremely repetitive on the grass. Also I hope, to bring up a random point, that this map has some nice environmental sounds. I always find that small detail really makes a big difference in regards to how immersive it is to play. Hope you don't mind me C&C'ing too much MrClean. I just always thought Old Age could do pretty well when I first saw the video of it ages ago and just want to see it do well. :3:

I'll see what I can do about the textures but paint alpha has some limitations :/

I'm pretty much done the enviroment. All I need to do is add props, camps, [B]somthing[/B] in the underwater cave and maby change the textures a bit. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mizxDBiuxo8[/media] Also, TheMaw sorry for the dumb question but when you mean Z-Clipping planes do you just mean the clipping tool down the middle of the map? It's default value is -1, which means it's disabled. Set it to a reasonable distance.

P.S: I'm still looking for a modeller who can rig, mesh handle and animate. Including player models.
Is there going to be a tutorial at the beginning? that you can disable? Also...catapult? ...whenever I think "old age" I think medieval age...which is not the case.

But good thing you asked incase other people didn't know. UPDATE: - Finished Group system. - Added some quest npcs. Not fully functional but movement is ok. Preparing for the quests. - Finished some models which will appear above the quest givers, depending if your on it or about to start it. - Finished a reasonable note system. It's just a simple error, where I forgot to do ValidEntity() on.)

Reaper is a really good friend and offers me some servers. Tho, I won't take any donations, but maybe Reaper does for the server. It needs to cover the entire area and not inside a pool.

Unrelated: I almost lost my map a few min ago XD I was maping when my pc crashed while it was autosaving :ohdear: This happened right after I compiled the map so I had to use Vmex ([B]THAT I ONLY USE TO LEARN[/B]) to decompile the map so I could get it back...

Not a good idea, and no offence - but the map isn't that great. It's okay since it's the only map you have Maw, but you need to get another better one.
