To be honest, not trying to be mean or anything, but the map doesn't look that impressive at all. Actually, right now it looks like a jumble of repetitive textures and a few displacements, nothin actually significantly impressive. Work on something awesome like dynamic clouds, custom water textures or something to give a bit of variety to your map.

Now, its just like all the other GMod maps with textures you recognize from HL2 and other GMod maps. But then you need some textureing help from TheMike360 EDIT: [QUOTE=themaw;20021624]Sounds nice. Dark magic (offensive) / Holy magic (Healing, less offensive) ? Running skill? Different skills for creating items? Crafting? Bows, Wands, woodcutting axes, maybe props Smithing? Swords, War Axes, Maces, shields, heavy armors (extra Fighting attributes or something), Leatherworking? Medium armors(extra Archery attributes), Tailoring? Light armors (extra Magic attributes),

I'm sure you've done displacements before. It's when you convert a solid brush face into a triangle mesh of faces. Then you can shape it and stuff. It's the best way [I]imo[/I] to create terrain.

I've had my eyes on this thread, and read all the pages, and looked at all your updates. I'm real excited for this gamemode. The map isn't as bad as everyones saying it is, its just missing trees. Once the trees are added, it'll look much more full. As for the dungeon, It looks really good, but. I'd think that the dungeons would be seprate from the map somehow, like in WoW, you walk through a portal that takes you there, somewhere away from the main world. I'd expect the dungeons to be seprate maps, to keep everything nice and easy. Have a few diffrent servers for the dungeons and such. Then you could have more people making dungeons for you, I might be willing to try my hand at one. Otherwise I don't know how you'd restrict the number of people in a dungeon at a time. Whats stopping 20 people from entering? Then again, how would you do that with seprate servers. Have three 5-slot servers per dungeon? I dunno. Its a difficult thing to do, but you're doing a great job. Theres lots of complications with this kind of gamemode. Just please don't let it die.
TheMaw is just awesome! But I was wondering...what about you other mods? they won't get released? I mean...the one based on Black&White is just awesome and looks fun!

Yeah, that too. If you had to include all these dungeons on your map, aswell as making the map look nice. There just isn't enough room for all that. Like, you'd come up from the underwater tunnel, and there would be a portal, with a sign next to is, that says "Snakes Cave" or whatever the name of the dungeon is. That would leave alot more room for everything else.

That looks great, i want to play it. Btw, u should retexture or remake some models what fits to an old age. No need to but its an idea.

Even some other source games with no lua have it

Its definately possible, there are lots of gamemodes with a "Lobby" that you can switch to a game server by pressing a button, or something. This is pretty much the same, but instead of the button switching you servers, it would be your player entering a trigger, and its not really a lobby, but the main world. Problem being, wouldn't the triggers have to be built into the map? How would you go about changing which server that trigger teleports to? I have near no experience in the matter, so it might be a dumb question.

Y/N. But I don't know much about coding. The only problem I see with this is that to my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) full time servers cost money... The Maw, maby you could start a donating system that give donators exclusive items, weapons, etc.? All you would need to do is reskin a weapon and give it a differant name...
Are you going to do anything with the chat? If it will be more than 20 players you have to make a chat system like DarkRP with /advert and /ooc. Otherwise the chat will become a big mess
