Do I spy a custom physgun/gravgun/swep in there? :suicide:
The Frontier dev team, they torment us... And we love it!!! :psyduck:

Nope, just one of these, sorry:

But who's to say about the rest of the image, really.

When you need to sort a problem, use a gun.
If you need to sort a bigger problem? Use more gun.
This.
Is.
Fucking.
Epic.
What other embarassing things could we record and show the devs to get access to this? I will do anything
That gun's from Dead Space, not Frontier. Just to clear that up.
I just did some photoshop to make it look cool in the screenshot.
Jetpacks?
Maybe probably doubtfully eventually.
This thread has become a media thread for frontier not that anyone will complain!
The OP needs to be updated then.
Could you guys give us possibly give us a percentage on how much is finished?
No
NAN% completed, with a release date of NAN%.
Yeah pretty much.
By the way: Valve Time.

In this topic: People with no clue about how these things work.
I'd say we're roughly 210% finished. We've already finished Frontier and it's sequel and are about 10% complete with the third.
-snip- Wrong topic.

Sniff Sniff *Monk smells sarcasm*
Supprised I'd never heard of this before, but it looks epic, nice job to the team behind this definitely worth the wait for whenever it's done.

They were trying to keep it under wraps until they had something to release, from what I gather - at the very least, keep it low-key.
Why? Because they knew they'd get pestered for a release!
If you ask me, and this is what I'd do, I bet they kept it low key so that if they gave up or stopped working on it a bunch of people wouldn't rage or /wrists.
:v:
what impossible why would you think that
because it's crazy talk you know
Frontier is a lie. :ninja:
Frontier is a lie. :ninja:
Yeah, well so was the cake, but anyone who has beaten portal would know that the cake was real. Your companion cube was waiting for you at the table at the end of the credits. So, Frontier is actually the truth with chocolate portal cake.
Valve time is the lie. Frontier will be released after the creaters say it's ready ,shortly before Chuck Norris gives Frontier Mod his blessing. Spacebuild is gonna get a roundhouse kick to the face!
hm but honorguard Chuck Norris made valve time, infact he leads valve. So, the release is in valve time. =)

Blast, I can't repel logic of that magnitude! /Ackbar :v:
My question is this though: Whats really different between this and spacebuild? Besides the awesome map and models.

You won't lag nearly as much in this as you do spacebuild.

And now for the technical explanation.
The last time Snake put any real effort into Spacebuild of any kind was at least a year and a half ago.
Thing is since then we have had many extra hooks added to GMOD that if used in Spacebuild would reduce lag spectacularly! Of course with Snake banned and not really giving a shit due to real life or general disapproval with how Garry runs things, Spaecbuild 3 is a dead project all in all.
Thing is, it never went past beta, so it is unoptimised, unstable (server crash ahoy!) and bloated - how many times have you used all the gasses available in life support? Hell some of them don't even have a use. This bloat is not helping the situation.
One thing many of us spacebuilders also like doing is "realism roleplay" - i.e. keeping things as legit as possible. Spacebuild currently doesn't really fulfil that.
Frontier is going to be a more stable, better optimised Space game mode that will make use of the new GMOD hooks, avoid the bloat, and supply us realism roleplayers more to go on (energy systems that make sense and actually exist, visible spacesuits with helmets required etc).
TL:DR version: Frontier isn't going to rape your machine just for floating in space.
I'm still waiting on that video Loki.

I'm waiting for them to grow so I don't cut the end of my toes off, Da.

Just so you know, the reason I haven't been working on SB for a long time is cause of college and now university. Once I'm done with my exams and stuff I'll be able to work on it all again.
It's not cause I haven't worked on it for a while, that it's been abandoned.
