Looks to me like they had a right to be suspicious of you. Why didn't you just tell them what the problem is from the start, instead of dancing around acting like some hero who's going to save their servers? That conversation read more like a thinly veiled threat than a genuine attempt at helping someone. Why then would you post it publicly to spite them? Can't believe people support this shit.
I agree there. When it starts with : |-ICE-|✞Vin✞: what do you need? Alex: That's a kind and totally not agressive way of starting a conversation with someone that can help you. It's doomed to failure. You caught the wrong person at the wrong time, and used that line as your first reply. It doesn't say much as to what people will get for trying to help. More what you get if you say XYZ, to person A, in mood B, at time C. Not including the whole cultural/social influences involved here. This thread is pretty much a none thread, full of people pitchforking over an empty, debate-less, and non-reversible issue.
you don't need to use big, silly phrases and sentences to put across your views, your paragraph literally means nothing useful
No need to be mean.By the amount of games, and on line activities you do. i don't think you know much about social dynamic. I think the OP should discuss his opening line to this sever admin. Maybe he spent hours reading about DDoS attacks, was paranoid, then the OP starter talking about sever exploits. Also I'm not sure if the admin spoke first out of nowhere and said what do you need, or the OP started the conversation prior to the ICE vin guy saying "what do you need"

If you bothered to read the rest of the thread, the opening post highlights a conversation in which Alex approached an admin on a server and presented an exploit to which he was basically ridiculed and the exploit was ignored, even by the owners of the community and server.
Actually getting somewhere with helping them. But not before another episode of paranoia from another Admin:
Yoobs: Ok Yoobs: Ive contacted him Alex: Have you given him the link? Yoobs: no Yoobs: i didnt evne look Yoobs: it was telling me to register to view the link Alex: Well here's the gist of it Yoobs: and why do i want to know whats you Alex: http://puu.sh/dMPAl/b69e808b46.txt Yoobs: Really Yoobs: A link that tries to ban you Yoobs: Nice one Alex: Erm, no? Yoobs: Step ahead there buddy Alex: It's a link to a chat log xD Yoobs: Just copy and paste Yoobs: it

Would of saved a whole lot of time if Yoobs just used Virustotal or something similar.
babys first lecture on social psychology doesn't make you smart
It's alright thinking I'm dumb, and make dumb posts. Why doesn't anyone address the first reply Alex gave. Which is: Alex: That's a kind and totally not agressive way of starting a conversation with someone that can help you. and then starts the second conversation with: Shall we start this conversation again, this time not forgetting about social niceties? Don't expect a good reply from someone when you say this. The first line just adding fuel to the fire. The second line, is.. patronizing at best. Earlier I was referring to the mood ICE Vin was maybe in. Maybe he was new admin, and has been experiencing sever hacking. He then gets a white knight, claiming, he can fix some exploit Vin may not even know about. I don't support ICE members as some kind of super-nice, competent server admins, but as i said, this topic says more about how not to talk to people you claim you want to help out. Then What you get for trying to help people.
I get the feeling you have never been in a situation where you have had to deal with customers of a company or anything like that (i.e maccas or a clothing store or whatever). If you are in a shitty mood, it doesnt mean you have to be a dick to everyone else, especially in the case where people are trying to help you out and also when you dont know each other. If Vin was in a bad mood, all he had to say was "hi, i cant talk now" or he could just not even say anything and come back later, its not rocket science. When you confront someone with the intention of helping and you get a "what do you want" greeting, the first impression the other person is going to get is "you are a dick". Personally I think there might have been a slightly better way for Alex to deal with it, but overall I dont think he did/said anything wrong.
After all, did someone wipe his database in the end?
probably due to hackers using puush
upload screamer.swf to push return a link like : puu.sh/FhjhF.swf change the .swf to .png, it will still redirect to the swf file.
Yeah im serious, people send you a link to a website that send a small udp packet to rcon and if you get the password wrong for rcon 3 times it bans you and the only way of unbanning someone is if you unban them through the server files.
^ He's right, but i think it was fixed in the last update, not sure.
Reminds me of one guy that wanted to hire me for some graphic work and it didn't match his 'style' so he didn't want to hire no more but still wanted the graphics done as it was 'a waste of his time' and he felt he needed compensation for it.
